Crazy. Apparently, Kennard is deciding tomorrow. Duke is the only school he's taken an official visit to, despite having them scheduled at Kentucky and Ohio State.
The Blue Devils fans have to like their chances considering this.

He must've seen something he liked in the Mercer game. Lol.
Big pick up for Duke.

During his announcement, Kennard apparently commented that he knows at least two others in the 2015 class that are coming to Duke and that it could be an even better class than 2014. Now, this is obviously the reflections of an excited teenager, so who knows. But he's close to Chase Jeter and many believe the two will play college ball together.
Jeter is a 6-10 center out of powerhouse Bishop Gorman in Las Vegas and the seventh-ranked big man in the class. Hopefully K lands him, ensuring the Devils have a legit center each of the next two seasons.

Chad Ford reporting that Myles Turner has trimmed his list down to Kansas, Texas and Southern Methodist.
Not terribly surprising. I can't imagine a scenario where he is not a Jayhawk.

Turner stated on Twitter late last night that he has not retracted his list to three teams. So Duke and Ohio State are still in the running. With Parker having left, that might leave a window of opportunity -- however slight -- for Duke to sneak in at the last second. He and Jahlil Okafor would compose a perfect duo that highlights the game of each.

Turner's announcement, by the way, is reportedly set for April 30, when he will presumably perform a dramatic live event in front of about 8 diehard fans across the country.
This suspense-building bullshit where we have to watch the kid pick a hat out of a bag on national television is just so stupid. Almost enough to stop following recruiting. Almost.

Anyone see the Karl Towns behind the back pass from half court? Right on the money for a lay-up. It was pretty sick. I'll post a video when I find one.

Coach K visited Turner at his home in Texas last night. The verdict among Blue Devil insiders is that the last ditch effort was just that. Duke, not surprisingly, is out of the running. It's down to Kansas and Texas, according to those "close" to the recruitment.
Jayhawks are gonna be loaded in the front court. I actually think Kansas will be a much better team next year than they were with Wiggins.

If KU gets Turner, you will have Kentucky, Kansas and Duke with half the top 20 recruits.

Myles Turner decision tomorrow at 4pm ET on ESPNU. In all likelihood Jayhawk fans will be happy.

Turner to Centenary. Says he wants to build on the success of Robert Parish.

It's betrayal when the top Ohio player doesn't go to tOSU. Last big time graduating player to not go to OSU after winning Mr Basketball was Kenny Gregory back in 1997 when he went to Kansas. We should have went after Burke but we know how that all workedTerry_Tate;1585076 wrote:If both Luke Kennard and Carlton Bragg don't go to Ohio State I may cry, and I usually don't get too hyped up in recruiting. Really hoping both of them then VJ King go to Columbus.

If Kennard betrayed anybody, it was Kentucky. He and his family are lifelong Wildcat fans from southwestern Ohio, where the majority of basketball fans root for UK, not OSU.

Yeah, betrayed is completely wrong. He owes nothing to Ohio State.reclegend22;1611956 wrote:If Kennard betrayed anybody, it was Kentucky. He and his family are lifelong Wildcat fans from southwestern Ohio, where the majority of basketball fans root for UK, not OSU.
And in Cincinnati most people are UC or Xavier fans, but there are quite a few UK fans around. 90% of Northern Kentucky are UK fans, but cross into Ohio and it's maybe 10%. Probably 50% UC, 30% Xavier, UK 10%, Ohio State a little behind UK as ridiculous as that is.

An FYI, my posts in the NBA thread made me want to bring up the fact that there's a decent chance that UK gets the #1 center in the 2015 class tomorrow, Skal Labiessiere. Definitely could be some concerns about his eligibility and recruitment, as it has been bizarre to say the least. Not that UK had anything to do with it (it's more his handlers and family members), but anyone who tries to enroll him and let him participate wearing their uniform, is taking a risk. Even if it's like Rose, where the NCAA rules him eligible, they could come back later and say something happened that the school should've known about, and in-turn, punish the school.
