first dead suspect was in cardiac arrest when he arrived at hospital, multiple injuries (gunshot wounds and other)

Well, the doctor said "more gunshots than I was able to count"...and also "explosive trauma"

Disappointing. I've thought all night (until an hour ago) they got the guy alive.

wow...they have a 10-20 block perimeter and looks like guards are stationed about 5 feet apart - must be well over 9k police in the area.
