Second Ricin envelope found, this one addressed to Obama.

Someone just taking advantage of this incident? I don't know, Ricin apparently may not be hard to make but wouldn't think it's something you have just laying around.

No chatter and no group taking credit for any of this - if it's foreign that's a very scary development

You're right about that. Usually when anything like this happens, there's a few groups jumping over themselves to be first to take credit for it (kind of like a macabre version of our media trying to be first to give information, regardless of accuracy). If things are happening and no one is pounding their chest over them, we might be dealing with true serious business stuff -- with people/an organization who are looking to get serious long-lasting results, rather than just make a quick impact that leads to our military blasting the fuck out of some country or another.

The hospital was given the all clear. Locked car at valet with gas cans in back.

I'd like to see the FBI command center for this. The amount of camera and video footage they are reviewing has to be just awesome.

I think this is a very sad commentary on what thew "news/media" has become. It used to be that the freedom of speech was important to provide balance and a voice outside of the government. But they are all squandering good faith that people used to have in the reliability of their reports.

Sounds like the Ricin deal is a "known" person in so far as he's a nut that has sent threatening letters in the past.

And the letters were mailed like April 7th / April 8th but takes about a week for govt mail to get thru the central screening depot.

Mistakes being made in this reporting would have been career-enders 20+ years ago. Unbiased and accurate - the wasn't just a gold standard it was the only standard.
