I seem to be the lone voice in the forest when I keep asking how Steubenville can heal. I sent a stern letter to the editor of the Herald Star last week telling everyone that Reno, Abdalla, and the entire Steubenville police force must go. The HS refused to print my letter. Instead they printed a lot of letters that were nothing but fluff that wouldn't offend any of their readers. The Herald Star has no spine and has no business being a part of our community. They contribute nothing. There is no journalism in Steubenville.
I'm going to rewrite my letter and focus exclusively on getting rid of Reno. After I write the first draft, I will post it here. I welcome your comments and criticisms. I would also welcome some co-signers. I'm not going to submit this unless I have at least five co-signers. Then and only then will they realize that this is a problem that they have to deal with.
Although Reno is only the tip of the iceberg, he is a big tip. He has to go first before anything good will happen. He is an open sore that will not heal. I nearly died the other night when 20/20 was on. It was a huge embarrassment to us people who are still proud of our community.
Before you say that I live in Houston and am out of the loop, I am seriously thinking of retiring in Steubenville. I have great memories of growing up there, and I would to rekindle those old flames. I love the town, I love the school, and I want to do everything in my power to bring back Steubenville's greatness. It is a tremendous challenge, but I will do everything I can.
Pray for us. We need it.
