Psycho itself is vastly overated as a psychological thriller IMO. I mean really did anyone not know Mom was dead upstairs when you actually never heard her speak? Weak sauce Hitchcock....weak sauce.

I enjoyed it last night.

I think NB ends up boning his mom at some point.


Some reason lately I have had a thing for 40 something women who keep themselves fit....like the mom on bates motel and the leading lady on Red Widow....

If I had A&E, I'd watch it.

Freddie Highmore and the rest of the cast are great. Maybe I'll catch this on the A&E app for the iPad?

The real "Norman Bates" was a freak. Ed Gein has had numerous movies that he inspired because he's a freak.

Nah, it will last at leaste 10 eps.

That is how many the season is booked for. They have spent too much money and time publicizing their own original show to ax it that early.

I was a bit disapointed as they talk about how it is a Psycho Prequel in what made him nuts, but then they have cell phones and such. I thought it was goin to be set in an earlier time period

I thought it was pretty good.

Vera Farmiga is fucking hot as hell. So there is that.

A&E ordered a 10 episode first season (do they plan on going more than 1? I dont think so). So we will see the whole thing.

Yeah...I thought so too......More then 10? Will depend on the ratings you can bet!
Imagine we will see "more" of her as well....

What?

In the pilot/trailer in the original post, they say it was set to modern times.

I mean..it isnt a deal breaker....but I just had in my mind that it supposed to be set long agao.

I watched the first and half of the second episode on Sunday. I really enjoyed it. I hope I can find the time to get caught up.

I have the last 2 DVR'd and have been on vacation. It will take awhile to catch up on all the shows, but I will on this one cause I liked the 1st episode a lot.
