This year I'll be attending games in Auburn Hills and I was just wondering how much fun they are and anything important to know when going. What should I expect?

I've always had a good time. I've been to the final four in new Orleans and Detroit. I've been to the sweet 16 is st Louis and did the first two rounds in Columbus last year.

I like to always buy tickets to the first day Ahead of time and the scalp the second day tickets. Prices are always pretty fair on the day of the games. Most of the time the championship game tickets go way under face value. If you want a official tshirt get it early because team gear sells out fast.

I've been trying to convince my fiance to let us get tickets to the final four in Atlanta since it is only 3.5 hours from where I live but she isn't having it. I've been to a few games it's always a great time.

The final four in Atlanta will be a great scalp if you are so inclined because Kentucky and every major school from the South is a non-factor. (I consider Louisville more midwest than south) Atlanta is also notorious for not showing up to support massive events so there will be tickets to be had if you are so inclined.

Only been to one NCAA game before, and that was the 2010 finale in Lucas Oil Stadium.

If Duke reaches Indianapolis, I will go. In that scenario, not sure if I will wait and chance it to see if the Blue Devils reach the regional final and wait for that, or just make the trip to the Sweet 16 instead to guarantee I can watch them.

I probably won't go to both games because of work (depending on which days they would play), because I'm already taking off for a trip to Vegas after the tournament and will take off at least one day to go watch Duke if they make it to the Monday night national championship game (I probably won't have to worry about this).

Duke has to get by a 15 seed first so you may want to hold off on tickets.

swamisez I think if I wasn't getting married in June and we weren't saving up money for that and the honeymoon then I could probably talk her into it. Sadly she also is not a fan of basketball at all. I'm not going to quit until the morning of the 6th though haha. Also what sucks is there really isn't anything around Atlanta that she would want to go visit now if it was in New Orleans I'd be golden since she really wants to go there.

Guess your chance was last year. Although I'm sure the Final Four will return to New Orleans at some point. Looks like Texas, Indiana, Texas for the next three years, though.

Yeah haha too bad I was still living in Ohio then :P. I'm sure I'll get my chance to go at some point. Just one of the few things left in sports that I'd really love to attend.

Yeah, Im sure I could always scalp, but I dont really want to drive nearly 3 hours with the uncertainty. Akron was only allotted 550 tickets for the game..

Stubhub is going at about $70 for that session. Ticketmaster may have face value tix at $57 for the session

At Auburn Hills it's currently $69 for cheapest ticket in session 2 with UM/SDSU and Akron/VCU while the MSU/Valpo and Memphis/Mid Tenn or St Marys is going for $39. You can sit in the lower bowl for $69.

Down in Dayton the cheapest tickets for Session Two with OSU/Iona and ND/Iowa State is $124 a piece.

In Lexington some really cheap ones to be had for Session One with Butler/Bucknell and Marquette/Davidson, arguably one of the best sessions of the 1st round. You can get Upper Deck seats for about $10:laugh:

Seriously though this is the problem with Dayton, it's too small considering the large basketball powers in the area

If I had time off work I'd easily go to the one in lexington haha. I think both those games are going to be great ones.

There is plenty to do in Atlanta. World of Coke, Georgia Aquarium, MLK Center, Centennial Park, eating at The Varsity, Braves game, Mall of Georgia in Gwinnett, club scene in Buckhead. She wouldn't have a shortage of fun stuff to do.

Turtles does she like music. They always have free concerts at the final four and this years concerts are pretty good.

Friday has the Zac Brown Band and My Morning Jacket
Saturday is Muse Flo Rida Ludacris and Macklemore
Sunday is Dave Matthews Sting and Grace Potter

All of these are free and usually are not all that packed. If you can't swing the whole weekend try to go down on Monday for the championship game and you can scalp lower level tickets for under $100 if you wait until close to tip.

My sister (manager at Dick's Sporting Goods in Austin) just won tickets to the UCLA/Minnesota and Florida/NW State games tomorrow.

Well, Dayton Arena seats 13,500. A lot of the locals go to the games.
