I disagree with this one. If most of the 6'9'' players have a wingspan of 6'10''-7', and 6'9'' Andre Drummond has a 7'6''+ wingspan, he's got length and a huge advantage. I've never heard a commentator say a player has length just because he's tall.

As for the OP, I think "prolly" probably irks me the most.

I hear it far to often to believe anything but it being used as a synonym.

I agree that there is a legitimate use for it when discussing the length of a players arms/his wingspan.

But this; It is used far too commonly just to describe a player who is tall.

It's overused in any context. It's become the thing to say that ends up meaning nothing.

Here's one I heard last night. This one really pisses me off.

conversate

Completely unnecessary word that ignorant people invented. "Converse" will do just fine, but since most people I hear use this have the IQ of a doorknob, they should probably just fucking say "talk."

Greg Oden has length. Does that count?

Irregardless

Adding an unnecessary "s" on the ends of words that shouldn't have it:
Krogers
Meijers
Offsides

From the Urban Dictionary:
1. SWAG
The most used word in the whole fucking universe. Douche bags use it, your kids use it, your mail man uses it, and your fucking dog uses it. If you got swag, you generally wear those shitty hats side way, and your ass hanging out like a fucking goof cause your pants are half way down your white ass legs. To break down the word, it means (Secretly We Are Gay). It is also a word that means to represent yourself/ the way you represent yourself, baggy clothes, shitty hats, small penis and basically a way to say your afraid to come out of the closet.
Assface Magee: I got so much swag
Darrel: You got so much dick in your ass
Assface Magee: Fuck you, SWAG

A word that must die: "defensed"

Well, it's not a word, so it can't really die. But commentators are using this word as a verb to describe how well somebody DEFENDED the ball. I get peeved every time I hear it.

It IS overused, but I guess it's a word. The past tense of the verb usage of "defense." Link

Literally.

I can't fucking stand how overused this word is and most of the time it's used incorrectly.

STOP IT.

This.

For my overused hall of fame, sports division, I nominate "exposed".

Haha, ya, I feel like in college basketball or college football whenever a team loses it is "exposed" and some deep fundamental flaw was revealed and they will never win another game because of this weakness that everyone will exploit.

Sometimes a team just doesn't play its best and doesn't win. That doesn't mean they were exposed, they just lost.
