Watching the game again since its 9pm amd nothing else is on. Something funny with Dan dakich. After fouls that are questionable. He always says now people will say well his feet were moving or something like that. Then say the officials are doing a great job. Like he doesn't think the call was good but he's going to just go with what the officials call. It's happened 3 times in the second half

Very impressed with the interior defense of the Buckeyes last night. When the guards pinched down the IU bigs and Watford couldn't figure out ways to pass out of the post or score in traffic. Excellent game plan by the Buckeye coaches.

Also, hats off Aaron Craft. I am a Buckeye hater by trade, but I found myself cheering for them last night. Excellent job and very gritty and gutty performance all around. A season defining win if I am an OSU fan.

Yea... the officials were clearly on OSU's side. The foul disparity only evened out at the end because Indiana was intentionally fouling. As pointed out even by OSU fans in this game thread, there was a foul or two late that could have been called on OSU. But IU got a ton of questionable calls in their favor all night.

Anyways, it was an exciting game.

I look forward to giving one of my friends an IU basketball fan (he went there for undergrad) and an OSU football fan (front runner since he now lives here and figures why not) some crap over last nights win!

I think the calls started balancing out more towards the end in OSU's favor. Clearly, any IU fan bitching about the calls must have missed the first 12 minutes of the second half.

Like I said before, IU is the better team, but this game gave me confidence that Ohio State can make a tournament run. If Aaron Craft plays like that in the tournament and the defense continues to just be ridiculous, is it homer of me to think we can make it to the elite 8 or more? Maybe just a bit.

I love the confidence Craft has been playing with on the offensive end. He's driving and hitting from close around the rim. Ravenal is also playing some great defense with being where he is supposed to be. I just wish Amir Williams would get his shit together some. He looked just as lost this time around as he did last time around against Indiana.

And for anyone (lookin at you ESPN) who bashed Matta for chewing out Ravenel for his poor play, it looks like it worked out. A coaches job is to motivate his players, whether that be by building their confidence with kind words, or ripping them a new one, a coach needs to know his players to know what works. I'd say Matta did his job.

IU looked listless, slow, and as if they thought they had this game handed to them. They were playing a great team, not one of their pre conference patsies so I am not sure why they were slow. Were they looking fwd to their post game ceremonies too much?

OSU Looked good. Quick, more motivated and definantly the better team last night. Craft wanted to really put it to Oladipo and he did a great job.

Looks like IU is hitting their lull of the season where they just are not clicking. Of course, this happens immediately AFTER iI became a believer after they went to MSU and won. Lets hope they can regain their mojoe for the tournament, but you just cannot flip the switch.

To a small point I agree. It has been so long that I cannot remember how they did their Big Ten championship stuff, or if even at all.

WIth that said, Senior Night at Indiana is a long standing tradition. To be honest, it was always my fav game of the year to watch. Back in the day over 90% of the games were on a local affiliate and they would carry the ceremony afterwards. It was always great to listen to BK speak. Heck.>I wanna say one time he cancelled it due to the poor play. I would be mad when the last home game was on ESPN/CBS because that meant the postgame would not be on TV. One season the local affiliate decided to replay the senior night thing later because fans enjoyed it so much.

WIth that said.....OSU wanted it more last night. They were a step quicker, hungrier and just outplayed the Hoooosiers.

Definitely was impressed with Ravenel's defensive effort. Thompson is also playing out of his mind and Shannon Scott must be taking notes on Aaron's defensive tactics.

In the past he was never afraid to question teh calls. In games that he did with IU at times he was not afraid to even comment how they were getting the calls so far in said game (with that said..I dont watch other CBB games other than IU so I dont know if that was something he did alot or just when covering IU)

Nice W for the Buckeyes, and hopefully Matta should start garnering some B1G COTY votes. Also, imo, this was the most complete team win this season. Great way to get into the March flow of things.

Nope. Just couldnt stand being in the basement.

Its all about how you are playing come tournament time. IU is stumbling a bit. One would think a great team would turn it around when they need to, but sports is a funny thing..you just cannot flip the switch and start playing like ya used to. As a hoosier fan I am hoping that the tournament refocuses them and they make a run for it.

Craft, Scott, Thomas, Thompson and Ravenel, with Ross, Smith, Jr. and Williams (as little as possible) coming off the bench. That's what I'd like to see.

I'd agree. Among my friends, Williams has become public enemy #1 for various (and many) reasons. For me, it's the concept that "defense" involves standing off to the side where you're in a "block or nothing" situation. And the weak hands manifesting themselves at the worse times.

Ravvy's not consistently good, but when he is playing well, he's the team's closest thing to a truly legit post player. And to beat teams like Indiana and Michigan State, particularly, you need to have legit play in the post.

@KyleRowland: Oladipo, Zeller and Watford combined for 70 points in Columbus. They had 36 last night in Bloomington.

Loved what I saw from Thompson last night. His shot has really looked good as of late. He can be an Oladipo type player if he can get some muscle on him.

Hulls' shooting also was non-existence until under a minute left in the game. They did a great job of closing out on him.
