First off, great class buck fans.....

As long as Meyer is your coach, you guys should have an automatic spot in BCS games/titles.
2 years in a row, he's put together 2 great classes. SEC type recruiting classes. With Michigan being the only other team that recruits well in the Big 10, OSU should have no problem going undefeated or have just one loss. Meyer done well in the SEC, and now he doesnt have to play 8 tough games a year. So every season should be an easy one since he's not playing in a conference that 11 teams are ranked in the top 25 for recruiting.
Tressell was a good recruiter, but he didnt cover the whole country like Meyer and Meyer is just a better coach. He wont lose to a majority of the top 10 teams you play (if you play any) like Tres did. You guys should be in good shape for as long as he's there. His stress level probably wont be as high either, since its easier for him to out recruit teams up north and he wont have to prepare as much week in and week out for games.

I'm not sure if you're trying to be sarcastic or not...but if not, that was the most backhanded compilation of compliments I've seen in a long time.

and when you add in their weak NC schedule, and play most of their games at home, I think OSU will be in the NC talk for a long time to come with Meyer at the helm. I think a 2 loss regular season will be their "down" year.

Finally someone with some common sense. OSU is in a great position. WISC,PSU, and NEB wont be as good. And the teams added to the conference for future years are nobodies. OSU doesnt have to worry about a ORE, USC, OK, or a Texas type team to knock them out of a title spot now. Just win their easy schedule, and they're in.

well I am thavoice of reason.....

but what OSU has is something alot of big name colleges have.

Stack their NC schedule with mostly home games. Schedule 3 games against teams whom you dont have to have a return visit, and one "good" NC game that you have to complete a home-and-home. Then you have your built in home games in the conference and next thing you know you are playing 70-75% of your games at home.

OSU didnt create the model, but they use it.

That is one reason why I think ND should get into a conference. They then could follow the same sort of format that would guarentee them more home games.

How so? OSU didn't lose a bowl game. Nor did they have to spend money on one.

Tressel was actually 11-8 against Top 10 teams in his career (assuming my quick research is correct, and we count the Arkansas win, which I do) ... that being said, yes, with Meyer OSU should certainly win a handful of titles:

WINS
#10 Washington State (2002)
#1 Miami (2002-03)
#9 Iowa (2003)
#10 Purdue (2003)
#10 Kansas State (2003-04)
#7 Michigan (2004)
#6 Notre Dame (2005-06)
#2 Texas (2006)
#2 Michigan (2006)
#7 Oregon (2009-10)
#8 Arkansas (2010-11)

Losses

#5 Michigan (2003)
#2 Texas (2005)
#2 Florida (2006-07)
#2 LSU (2007-08)
#1 USC (2008)
#3 Penn State (2008)
#3 Texas (2008-09)
#3 USC (2009)

I agree. Meyer is a good coach and is definitely putting together a class worthy of a B1G powerhouse like Ohio State. I can't wait for these academic geniuses to do it both on and off the field unlike the SEC where all that matters is how many women you impregnate and how many TDs you score on the field as opposed to off.

If that is all the top 10 teams they played in 9 years, wow. Only 2 top 10 teams a year. Basically one game during the reg season and a bowl game. SEC teams can play more than that in 3 weeks time. OSU is very lucky to play in the B10 and they shouldnt have any problem owning it for years to come. You guys are on the rise while all the rest (besides Mich) are on the fall or same level as they have always been.
It looks like Tressel starting going down hill after the 07 title game. It has benefited your program by leaps and bounds by moving on and getting Meyer. 2013 should be an absolute cake walk in going undefeated.

Tressel was 12-1 and beat an almighty SEC team in his final year. Really down hill
The year before that, they beat Oregon in the Rose Bowl.
The year before that, they lost to Texas on a last minute TD.

Not going to get in an argument for this whole thread, but look at the schedule. And look how many wins actually count that year. Sorry. I could argue and argue and throw facts out there, but I dont want this thread to turn into a argument/name calling fest.
