http://www.mlive.com/wolverines/index.ssf/2013/02/speed_is_overrated_in_receiver.html

I heard about this on the radio today. I think the media is making too big of a deal about it. (at least the local media is) There are PLENTY of track guys who aren't quite as fast on the field and can't catch and also quite a few examples of guys who are hard nosed receivers or receivers with great hands who do well in college and the NFL. He didn't say speed wasn't important. And I do think the recruiting people put too much emphasis on 40 times where the players are running in a straight line without pads.

Is UM's plan to go to a Stanford style pro-offense? I really don't know much about Hoke, so what is their future plans when Hoke has his guys in place?

You are exactly right. All he was saying is they aren't taking a pure speed guy, they want receivers who can play big time football.

Michigan's DL coach, Jerry Montgomery, has accepted an offer from Oklahoma. This is a big loss as he was one the better recruiters fro Michigan.

Webbie, I saw that he was going to the Sooners in the same capacity. Other than money, were there other factors that influenced his decision? I just don't see Oklahoma as a better job than tsun's, unless, of course, they're offering him a boatload of cash.

Money is the only real tangible. He was making $205k, will be making $272k. He has DC/HC aspirations, and some speculate he though there was more opp at OU since Mattison and Hoke both coach DL with Montgomery, and Hoke will likely be around a while. Although Mattison likely won't due to retirement.

Michigan did attempt to keep him with a raise, but probably not enough because they would have had to give most assistant's a raise. They were just finishing up their 2 year contracts and raises are in the works any way, but probably not 33%.

Nice pickup. Where does Michigan stand with his HS teammate Artavis Scott?

Haven't heard anything recently. Cole and Scott have expressed interest in playing together, along with teammate George Campbell (2015). Michigan has been recruiting the trio really hard, so I think it can only be a positive.

Michael Ferns is working hard on the "Team135" thing. He might be our best recruiter lol

Peppers is a complete stud I have a feeling he will end up at Michigan. I still think Hood ends up at ND.

A lot of people think he'll end up at OSU. He had some weird comments a couple weeks ago that doesn't make me confident about Michigan.

ND is the leader for sure on Hood. Sounds like Michigan moved to second after his visit, which he said was the best of all his visits so far. The staff will be after him hard.

I wonder who that could be?

Michigan made a big impression on Hood for sure. He was saying before his visits this weekend that he'd probably commit by April. If he does that it would be ND. If he extends that "deadline" it will be a fight for him between ND and Michigan.

I just saw an article that said he planned on "pre-fall". Who knows when that might be.

Devin Gardner has been granted his medical redshirt. Drake Harris said that will have an effect on his recruitment. Sounding more and more promising for Harris to be Blue.

From my inside source, Michael Ferns will be an early enrollee.

Drake Harris has decommitted from MSU. Michigan will most likely be his #1.
