I'm also guessing you haven't seen what the "girl" supposedly told Te'o Dec 6.

Just Te'o/ND though right? Not the people who carried out the hoax? Jeez.

Agree he doesn't come off very well doing the interview without a camera and with a lawyer present. But I saw this tweet which was an interesting take on it. (Note: he later clarified that by "woman," he meant the person that perpetrated the hoax.)

@mccannsportslaw: If Te'o might sue woman for intentional infliction of emotional distress, would make sense to have his lawyer with him for ESPN interview.

"@PeytonsHead: Manti Te'o allowed @ESPN to interview him, as long as there was no video, and limited audio. So, does this mean he's dating them now."

ESPN says there were no parameters on Qs with Manti Te'o. Terms were no camera and limited audio usage: http://t.co/FRmS942w

Obviously we get to get off on the fact that a ND player looks like a complete retard and we get to rehash the same tired jokes about him for years to come!

I've decided the osu players were victims in their memorabilia for tattoo's scandal. The kids had no idea what they were getting into

Do you need to look up the definition of "all?"

At least the people that may have tried to hoax him are already idiots. Te'o and ND became new idiots.

The "hoaxers" are absolutely idiots. But I still don't completely buy it. Don't you think that'd get boring after a year?? Let alone 3. And how could you sit on a phone and just breathe for hours?? It still just doesn't all add up.

It's BS no matter how it ends up being spun. Even a ND player said most of his team mates new she was made up months ago. No one is this freakin stupid for that long of a period of time. Notre Dame has a ton of money, good lawyers, and much media support. This will end up the same way the kid falling off the lift filming practice during a wind storm did. The story will be dead in a week.

After his interview, there's still a ton of questions. I'd like him to address why he went out of his way to mention his dead girlfriend in an interview even after he supposedly found out about the hoax.

Yes, you said they all look like idiots. Then you proceed to identify who all refers to. Te'o, the people covering for him, and Notre Dame's official response. Those people need to fess up.

unless you feel the people covering for him were the ones who were in on the hoax.

former teammate says that players (not most of his teammates) knew the woman wasn't his girlfriend (some could have felt that way for sure, especially after not ever seeing her), not that she was made up. tough to follow, I know, but try to know what you are talking about before you talk about it.

And I told you how I know.

You don't send all your kids to private schools here if you aren't wealthy. Punohou is 20k+ a year.

Sorry you tried to just push the, "well he's from Hawaii, he must be poor" card. But he's simply not poor, not well off, or lower class.

It can be worse then Karen though. Here they are talking about how Jesus was loved a week before his crucifixion, only to have those same people call for his death a week later. And how this situation is similar.

Wow! Lol.

Sorry, still not buying it. Something's not right. Te'o seemed well coached with his answers and all, but after some of the comments made by teammates over the last few days, Im having a hard time with his credibility. He doesn't appear to have been "loved" by his fellow players the way we thought he was. JMO.

I can't believe I'm actually saying this, but Tiernan brought up an interesting point: where has BK been these last three days? As close as he and Te'o appeared to be, it's curious as to why he hasn't at least come out and made a statement in support of his marquee player.

edit: never been a fan of Jeremy Schaap, so even after reading his account of the interview and watching him on ESPN, I don't feel everything has been revealed. He seems to be holding something back, and it just feels like there's more going on here.

When the story initially broke I read that Kelly was out on the recruiting trail (and what coach isn't right now). Swarbrick held a press conference and then the ball was in Te'o's court to speak on behalf of himself like he was supposed to after the BCS title game. I don't see anything wrong with Kelly not making a statement on it yet considering the person in question hadn't said much until last night. ND said what they had to say at this point, it's been Te'o's turn to clear the air and he hasn't done that yet.

IMO Kelly is fine not speaking, it isn't as if he ever said much of anything about the subject before, and after Swarbrick's weird presser my guess is ND is telling everyone not to talk....or they should be telling everyone that.

I agree, ewok, and I wasn't saying BK should have made a statement, I was just surprised that he hadn't. As I said, it's always appeared to me that they have a father/son type relationship, but maybe Kelly was told it'd be better that he stayed clear of this for now. I'm sure he'll say something at some point.
