Amen! This is my son's Sr year- no little brothers! Enjoy it while you can!

I may get a reprieve though-he's getting interest from D3 schools in both wrestling and football.

No doubt! I miss it.......you're sure to go through some withdrawal! :( My son had many different opportunities to continue his wrestling career in college. However, he chose to become a full-time student and is doing a wonderful job at that. I know he really misses the competition......but quickly gets over it when he walks in to the dining hall to a full-blown buffet each and every meal!

Yep. The education is #1 priority. We are just enjoying the visits right now. Plenty of time to decide on a sport and a school.

Logan Elm CV was youth for White coach lol and Ray and Crum were the only 2-0 wrestlers for HT as they lost big to Amanda then lost on a tiebreaker to Elm
Crum bumped up to HWT to get a match vs AC and pinned his guy in 1st

Yes......numbers are WAY down....forfeits and 1st year kids throughout the lineup. The hefty pay-to-play fees have really had a negative impact on the program for Canal. It's too bad....Coach Brooks really had something special going in CW.

Back to the Hamilton Dual Tourney tomorrow.

I'm told Admission is $8 - YIKES! and wrestling starts at 8:30 am - Double YIKES!

I'm assuming with 10 teams there will be 2 pools of 5 - anyone know if the pools have been determined yet?

got to pay for that new school some how! lol. Just kidding. Everything is expensive now a days but 8 bucks is a little excessive! They compete with Bingo on Saturday night thought so they have to bring in enough at the door.

Dad4Sports- I heard it was almost 500 a sport right now! That's nuts!

Assuming wrestling tournaments aren't bound by OHSAA price regulations like football? $6.00 is a standard price, but I have been to several tourneys that are $8 or my personal favorite. $8 per session x3

Agreed $8 is pricey - especially if you are bringing a family. Not a big deal to me as I'm usually solo.

At the Cambridge Tourney, they charged $10! When I gasped, the guy at the table said "Well, that's for all day - we don't clear the gym before the finals". To which I said, "You don't see that in the regular season much unless it's a big name tourney like Ironman, Top Gun, the Cruiser Invitational ...!" he just looked at me funny - LOL!

Worst part about that tourney was that on top of the $10 admin fee, it was the "no outside food rule" - Can't stand that - you shouldn't force kids to wrestle with nothing but bad pizza, nachos or take down tacos in their guts. But they had a new school to pay for I guess!

No outside food rule?
Not even a wrestlers table?

Those are the kind of tourneys most schools will tend to not come back for.

Yes I usually don't bring the family because I feel a $40 bill for a day is steep. My opinion is, since OHSAA likes to regulate, then they should regulate the prices for member schools like they do football and enforce a fee structure. $6.00 per person, $4.00 per student, kids 5 & under free.

That is just my $0.02

Especially those 8-10 team tourneys - 2 byes and 2 matches for $10 C'MON!
