Yes! Back into the playoffs now officially and only one back of 7th! Detroit improves to 17-0-2 this season when scoring 3 goals

Not official yet. They could lose one of their final two in regulation, and Columbus/Minnesota win out, and they would miss. 52 points for Detroit, w/ max 55 for Cbus and max 57 for Minnesota.

Jackets need to win out (Dallas and Nashville) AND have Detroit lose one of their last two in regulation (Nashville and Dallas) OR have the Wild lose one in regulation or OT (Edmonton and Colorado) for them to get into the playoffs.

Or if the Wild lose both (Not likely), the Jackets can go 1-0-1 and get in. They hold the tie breaker of Minnesota, I believe.

Columbus won't win the first tiebreaker against Minnesota or Detroit (regulation + OT wins), so they need to be clear on points alone.

If the Jackets win out (@ DAL, vs NSH), to get into the playoffs, they need ...
Detroit to get <3 points in their final 2 games (vs NSH, @ DAL) OR
Minnesota to get <2 points in their final 2 games (vs EDM, @ COL)

If the Jackets go 1-0-1, to get into the playoffs, they need ...
Detroit to get <2 points in their final 2 games OR
Minnesota to get 0 points in their final 2 games

If the Jackets go 1-1-0, to get into the playoffs, they need ...
Detroit to get 0 points in their final 2 games.

The most likely scenario of the above - IMO - is to win out and have Detroit lose on the road at Dallas on Saturday. I don't put that at a high likelihood, but it's the best chance. If Columbus loses in regulation tonight and Detroit gets a point against Nashville, the Jackets are officially eliminated.

They all have relatively weak teams to end the season, so i don't see the Jackets making the playoffs. If it weren't a short season I'd give them a chance, but not with they way they started - you can't win 5 of your first 20 and expect to make the playoffs. I'd be shocked if they got in with the scenario you listed.
