Pinehurst >>> Myrtle in my mind.

Play Tot Hill Farm on the way in or out. Play Tobacco Road too.

I play Tobacco Road yearly. One of, if not my favorite course. I've never played Tot Hill Farm though.

It's another Stranz course. 7th toughest in America. http://tothillfarm.com/

If golf is purely the reason for going Pinehurst over MB is a no brainer. But our group likes its after-golf activities too and Pinehurst area sucks for that. We tried this about 10 yrs ago and everybody said no-way for next time...back to the Beach!

:laugh:Shot 75 at good ol Hidden Hills today with a nice 34 on the back 9. Need to tune up my game as I'm heading to Detroit for the game tomorrow and then up to Grand Traverse Resort for the week to play on the Bear and Wolverine courses. The Bear is the #18 hardest course in the country according to Golf Digest

For pure golf, Pinehurst in a landslide. We played Tot Hill on the way down to Pinehurst. Beautiful course. It was 50 degrees, sunny and windy as hell and shot an 81. The last 3 holes seem like after-thoughts though. On the 17th tee, you are forced to hit it right at the 18th tee box and there's no protection...just be ready to duck behind your cart!

"Cart Path Only" seems to be the norm for OH courses this year. Sucks.

I am taking the family and in-laws on vacation to Charleston, SC next week (staying at Isle of Palms). Made tee times for me and my father-in-law at both Wild Dunes courses - The Harbor & Links courses. Anyone play these before? They look very nice. I also went on a boys weekend trip to Savannah, GA two weekends ago and played the Westin Savannah Harbor Resort course and it was very nice. They play the Legends of Golf there every year.

My dad just came out to Arizona and we played Dove Mountain (where they have the Match Play, I've played it like 8 or so times since it's 40 mins from U of A) and TPC Scottsdale.

The party hole (16) was kinda cool but I was underwhelmed by Scottsdale. Course simply didn't punish shots the way Dove Mountain does.

I am going up to stay with my brother for a few days in Columbus and he told me to pick the course. We are playing on a Saturday morning so I don't want to go too far and miss the noon college kickoffs. If you only had one course to play in Columbus, what would it be? Money is not really that big of a deal, but I would like to keep it under $75. Any suggestions?

I like to shoot I should take up golf....haha
I play golf twice a year.. In my younger married days before kids I played weekly. I was pretty good.... I should play more, now that I have more time.

What the average fee now and golf cart cost for 18 locally around Canton?
I spend around $100.00 average every week and half to go to the range. Just to compare.

Some are more, some are less.. I'd be more inclined to put it at $50 for 18 and a cart on average.

The most common places I play are
Chippewa who is $40 to walk, $52 to ride
Tam O' Shanter $34 to walk, $44 to ride
Legends $30 to walk, $40 to ride
Sanctuary $38 to walk, $50 to ride
Quarry $69 riding only.

There ya go.

I play mostly down south. Oak Shadows, River Greens, and Zoar. They are a little cheaper than the Canton area ones apparently.

I used to play it every year.. it was nice in late 90's early 2000's, but it became so shitty that we quit going. It's a shame because it's a nice course with a nice layout.. its been thru bankruptcy I don't know how many times though.

Yea, it wasn't too bad when we played it then. However, it used to be in a lot better shape. Freaking tough track, I played my ass off that day I felt like and shot 79.
