Money talks, but I thought Gruden has said repeatedly that he likes being an analysis and doesn't plan on coaching.

I'd rather work 20-30 hours a week for 20 weeks for $4-5 million than work 100 hours a week for 40-45 weeks for $8-10 million. He has the best job in sports, minimal effort and he is never wrong and the accountability is not much.

Here's a list of free agents by position.

http://www.footballsfuture.com/freeagents.html

Of that list I wouldn't mind seeing the Browns' pursue:

Andy Levitre Guard Bills. He's 26 and started every game of his career. Part of a line that blocked for the 6th best rushing offense this season.

Michael Johnson DE Bengals. Only 25 and had 11.5 sacks this season plus it weakens a division opponent.

Cliff Avril DE Lions. Averaged 10 sacks a year the past two seasons.

Connor Barwin OLB Texans. Athletic linebacker that played end in 4-3 defense at Cincy. Could be OLB/DE for us. Maybe too similar to Gocong who'll be coming back in 2013?

Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie CB Eagles. Basically identical stats to our #1 CB Joe Haden. Could become a formidable defensive backfield for years with Joe, DRC, Ward and Hagg.

Had me until you included Hagg.

Put in whoever you want. Didn't feel like looking up any safeties coming out of school so I flipped a coin between Hagg and Usama Young haha.

I would like Jairus Byrd, but there's no reason the Bills wouldn't just franchise him if they don't work out an extension. Same with Barwin and the Texans I would guess.

Levitre would be nice for sure.

Do some still want Te'o? He looked lost out there last night. He very well could have cost himself some cash.

He definitely didn't play very good last night. But bama had a good game plan letting jones go 1 on 1 with nix and letting the guards get out on te'o. But when he was in position to make the play he whiffed. I was truly disappointed in him last night

Not at #6. I can name 5 other defensive players I'd rather have.

They better stay the fuck away. He was terrible when actually faced with a good offensive scheme.

Yeah, no way on Te'o at #6. I would be ok with him in maybe ther 3rd round....which he will never fall to.

Mingo or Montgomery from LSU. Either one would be a better pick IMO.

I like the DE from FSU more than both those guys, but wouldn't mind any of 'em.

The Browns should hope that KC takes Geno Smith and a tackle or two go before they pick so that either Jones (Ala), Werner (FSU), or Milliner (Ala) is available. I think I'd rather have the CB.

I would prefer a rush DE(Werner). An d-line that can get a lot of pressure can make many CB's serviceable.

I just read that J Jones (DE Geo) has a spine condition?

http://espn.go.com/college-football/story/_/id/8448679/georgia-bulldogs-lb-jarvis-jones-long-journey-back-field-espn-magazine

After eight promising games as a true freshman linebacker for USC, Jones was sidelined indefinitely with a neck injury, barred from putting on his pads or helmet. "It was," he says, "depressing."
The injury occurred against Oregon on Halloween in 2009. By all accounts, it was a routine hit, but after staying on the turf for a few seconds, he was removed from the game. Within days, he found himself in the hospital, where a specialist told him he had a "mild" case of spinal stenosis, a narrowing of the spinal column. "I've seen this over and over again," Jones remembers the doctor saying. "If you play the game long enough, things like this will happen."

The doctor told Jones he would be fine and he could play again. But the Trojans' team doctors thought the injury was much more serious and refused to clear him for contact; they eventually recommended that Jones retire from football.

Since then he transferred back east and has been fine. Still somewhat concerning though.
