Arians and Trestman to be considered for HC gig. I love Bruce but on the fence about Trestman I don't trust a CFL coach

Wonder if Rae Caruth is out of jail yet?

The juice probably has a little juice left in him. And while you're at it...bring Donte Stallworth back. Wear a Jovan Belcher patch and sign Josh Brent. #championship

He's worked plenty in the NFL before that. It's not like he's Canadian football through and through

I would love if they got Trestman. Guy is a QB genius and a great leader.

Just think...when the Browns played the Steelers in the wild card game back in '02 Arains had Kelly Holcomb and should have beat the Steelers to go deeper in the playoffs in fact here is the stats he had: Not too bad using a guy named Kelly Holcomb, I'm sure he could help Weeden more than Shurmur.

Have to wonder if the presence of Joe Banner is what has hurt our ability to land an upper tier coach.

You know it is not a money issue as I doubt people are passing on the Browns because Haslam won't open the check book.

Banner lost a well publicized fued with Andy Reid in Philly, and I am beginning to wonder if some of these guys are passing on Cleveland because no one wants to work with him.

When the Browns came back in 99 this same thing happened when no one wanted to work with Carmen Policy, and it is how we ended up with Chris Palmer.

The strong figure President seems like a losing proposition as we saw it fail with Holmgren and it is hardly off to a great start with Joe Banner.

When you look around the league how many team president's can you even name? It seems only in Cleveland does this position carry such a huge weight in the football side of things.

I would much rather have had a traditional GM that is a football guy and a nameless/faceless team president that is just a bean counter, not one determined to show the world they are really a football guy the way we have with Joe Banner.

i just get the sense that they wouldn't have final say. i'd feel much better about hiring a capable gm if it was just haslam doing the search

I always thought that Chris Peterson was the best college coach. Must be just me since he never gets a look for a major NCAA job or in the NFL.

For some reason I remember him getting looked at for bigger NCAA jobs but he is content at Boise. Could be wrong, but 99% sure I am right.

He turned down the Arkansas job in Dec of this year. Surprised his name hasn't come up actually.

There is a difference in being aggressive in FA and being reckless. All good teams use FA to put them over the edge.

Mary Kay Cabot ‏@MaryKayCabot #Browns might pursue SB-winning coach Jon Gruden now that Chip Kelly out of the picture, source tells PD.

Taking over for BR I guess.
