I wish this thread of Browns posters could join together and buy the browns. Fuck, we surely could do better than the fuck heads running this team in the past 10 years (as long as footwedge and iggy have no say). It's pretty sad how we can easily see how some of these rumors would be so fucking dumb for the Browns, yet the front office is still considering it.

Lol truth man. Its pathetic how bad we have been since our return. We could definitely do a better job picking talent.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Edward_J._DeBartolo,_Jr.
DeBartolo was involved in the corruption case of former Louisiana governor Edwin Edwards. DeBartolo pleaded guilty to a charge of failing to report a felony, and received a $1 million fine and two years of probation in return for his testimony against Edwards.[SUP] [/SUP]Edwards was on trial for extortion and other charges, among which were the $400,000 he demanded from DeBartolo to gain a river boat casino license.[SUP] [/SUP]DeBartolo never received the license, was fined by the NFL, and barred from active control of the 49ers for one year[SUP][/SUP]

That legal battle led to another, and as part of a settlement, DeBartolo gave up control of the 49ers in 2000, ceding control of the team to his sister Marie Denise DeBartolo York. York had previously been the president of the DeBartolo family-owned Pittsburgh Penguins. In 1991 he arranged to sell the NHL franchise to assist the DeBartolo Corporation in the aftermath of the real estate collapse of 1987. Many shopping malls were sold to the Simon Property Group in 1996, which operated for a few years as the Simon DeBartolo Group.
I look to this as an example if Haslam's case pans out to be real bad. They'll have him pass controlling interests over to a family member not complicit in the fraud.

The funny part is how I win my fantasy leagues every year and even salary cap leagues and yet the Browns brass has yet to contact me. Maybe I'm not marketing myself properly? Or maybe they simply recognize the fact that I wouldn't put up with their bull**** ideas and would kick them to the curb with the very utterance of Geno or Eifert.

This sounds a little better!

Yahoo! Sports' Jason Cole says it "sounds like" the Browns are "definitely" going pass rusher with their first-round pick.

Colleague Mike Silver adds that the Browns could trade up to the Raiders' No. 3 spot, and he believes the target is BYU's Ezekiel Ansah. The Eagles at No. 4 and the Lions at No. 5 are also likely eyeing pass rushers if one of the top offensive tackles doesn't make it to them, so the jump up to No. 3 for the Browns could be a necessary move to ensure they get who they want. Ansah could play end or outside linebacker in the 3-4.

Trading up to 3 to take Ansah does not sound better. At all.

Trading up at all, unless its into the 2nd round, sounds TERRIBLE.

SOMEONE of Milliner, Jordan or Warmack will be there at 6, and Browns could use all 3 for sure. Hell, there is a chance Ansah could be there...

You actually proved my point that the national media, the same national media that said the browns are lacking offensive line help, are always wrong unless it's New York, Boston, or Green Bay.

I agree. Let the draft come to you.

Ansah looks older than 24 years old if you ask me but what do I know, I havn't won my fantasy league in 2 years

I mean better in the fact that we would be taking a pass rusher over a QB/TE. Heck, I want to trade down, and I see trading up as being absolutely pointless since 3 OT's will go in front of us leaving several solid picks. Trading up means completely giving up on the rest of this draft, and we certainly have too many holes to do that.

If they trade up to #3, with the talent pool in THIS draft, for someone stupid like Ansah, people will be longing for the return of the superior talent evaluators Mangini & Kokinis. I just have a really sick feeling in my gut about tonight. Hope that's off base.

Browns have discussed with New York, where the Jets would land the 6[SUP]th, [/SUP]68th and
104[SUP]th[/SUP] selections in the draft. The Browns in return sought the 9[SUP]th[/SUP], 39[SUP]th[/SUP] and 72[SUP]nd[/SUP] selections in the draft. The
teams continue to have dialogue, but the Jets turned down the proposal.

Well happy fucking draft day. I legit woke up in a bad mood thinking about how Lombardi is going to fuck this up. So, I am with you BR, I have a sick feeling in my stomach too. It is pretty sad the guy the Browns hired to turn things around leaves this feeling with all fans. All these rumors might just be a bunch of BS Lombardi/Banner threw out just to keep teams guessing, but the fact they are believable since Lombardi is in the FO makes it quite sad. 8:00 pm can't get here soon enough.

Also BR, that trade with the jets is the type of move the browns SHOULD be making. No fucking clue why they would even consider trading up, or drafting a QB in the first round. If they want a QB, trade down, and draft one in the 2nd round.

Pretty much my thoughts. I know it's "smokescreen season" and I hope with all hope that this is what they are but Lombardi has a track record of shitting in his hat.

I am trying to be rational about it. For the past 2 months we saw solid scenarios and rumors for the Browns. It wasn't until 2 days ago where we saw these "WHAT THE FUCK ARE THEY THINKING?!?!" rumors. So, I am hoping since most of these ridiculous rumors came the past 2 days, they are nothing but smokescreens. If not, expect the Browns to be set back just as badly as they were after the 2008 and 2009 drafts.

I know. Besides Eifert at 6 the WORST I've heard is EJ Manuel at 6 because Chud compares him to Cam Newton.

I saw something like that too. It makes no sense to me considering they could trade down and still get him in the 2nd round.

I think a lot of you have a bad feeling about this draft simply because it doesn't appear to be a very good draft. That and the fact there's rumors about trading up, which would be an epic disaster.

Honestly, if they stay at 6 and take bpa that isn't a te/qb I feel they'll do a good job. I of course wouldn't mind if they took Geno Smith at 6 but I realize im in the minority.

This is our day fellow brownies, its draft day! Lol :(

Yeah from everything I've heard there is no way manuel drops to the 2nd round. I highly doubt we get him.

I think the draft has plenty of talent. Just no big time playmakers at the skill positions. I am ok with that. Plenty of players I see who could have great careers imo. I have a bad feeling because of 1. the ridiculous rumors I am seeing, and 2. the fact Lombardi is a gm makes those rumors believable. I honestly don't think the guy has an understanding of how important the draft is.

Ok, then we get another QB. Not reach in the first round smh.
