We all know that MTV is the statio that is furthest from its roots than any other.

Which other ones do you think have went away from their original programming/ideals the most?

When I was sick as hell on wed and on the couch all day, wife had TLC on aaaalll day. Think like CSI or whatever was on, I dont remember, but anyways....each commerical break they are hawking their original shows and wow, America, is this how far TV has sunk? Their original programming is nohting but garbage. Seemed like it used to be alot of neat things, at least somewhat educational, but now they are nothing but complete crap.

ESPN. Virtually unwatchable outside of actual games.

I dont know....ESPN and TWC still do what they were created for. Sure they sensationalize stuff and hammer stories till we are sick, but I think they still are in their original mission statement and if anything carry more live things they did originally.

ESPN just showed tape delayed events and read the scores and didnt even do many highlights.

Much of the complaints against them nowadays I think leads to what the whole media has fallen to, sensationalism, and because of having so much programming for the full day to fill up the time. Back in the day they could do a show and replay it all day long, or show just replays of sports of which was kinda boring. I get it tho...some of the stuff is unwatchable but they still are the leader in sports and what people turn to when they wanna know whats goin on in the sports world

TLC
History
Discovery to an extent.

Any channel that has sold its soul for the garbage that is "reality" based tv.
Get back to what you were created to do, constructive program that inform, not dumb us down.

NBC is a shell of itself in comparison to the Tartikoff (spelling?) years with Cosby/Cheers and the 90's with "must see TV". The peacock is more of a turkey today, and that excludes discussion of the laughable MSNBC. When a crappy, over the hill show like The Office that should have been cancelled years ago is your best known program, there are obviously some problems with your product.

History channel should change its name to Armageddon and redneck channel.

Though I'll admit, I love pawn stars.

I read the first question, and I immediately thought of TLC. I 100% agree with you.

VH1 has turned into MTV light. Plus, we have them to thank for ridiculous shows like Flavor of Love, and Hip Hop/Basketball/Baseball/Football wives.

Did you ask her if you were allowed to change the channel and watch what you wanted?

Me too and American Pickers is fun to watch. Pawn Stars and American Pickers at least "touch" on historical content.

I was so outta it that we coulda watched anything.

I have to revise what i originally said......

I went to TLC schedule and that channel wasnt what was on all day. It was A&E, but they must be afflilated or owned by the same company as TLC because there was promo after promo for TLC. Criminal Minds and the First 48 is what we watched all day and they were interesting from what I paid attention. So it wasnt TLC that was on...just alot of commercials promoting their garbage

Not sure how anyone can say ESPN when they still air Sportscenter, PTI, ATH, college football, NBA, MLB regularly and new shows likes 30for30 and E:60. What more do you want?

Yeah...I agree. Dont know how anyone could say ESPN as pretty much everything they do is sports or sports related except for Poker, which has died down alot, and the spelling bee and such.
Even with the weather channel...there are a few more shows now but for the most part they are still true to the orignal programming of covering the weather although I dont like how they, and most weather people, sensationalize the weather.
