I'm sure there's no shortage of work there. There's got to be plenty of cases for a lawyer.

The downside, though, is that it's all pro-bono work for the Big Red athletes when they fuck up.

A friend of mine is a lawyer, born and raised in Steubenville. He does SS Disability law. He refuses to do any work in Jefferson county. Not for friends. Not for family. Nothing. Says it is corrupt as shit.

Anecdotal? Yes. Believeable? Extremely.

He's a wolf in sheeps clothing. He thinks he's getting over by doing it.

Anyone see the tweets about them cracking the rollredroll.com website? It was pretty funny. They said they didn't even need to hack it because the password was guessed the first time around -- "rollredroll." Boy, how clever!

I read that. I was thinking about it the other night wondering what software they used to find the password. Then it came to me that MOW/James 'Jim' was probably stupid enough to make it rollredroll or gobigred.

I hears it's currently rapecrew.

1) I don't think two ADULTS in positions of prestige could have embarrassed the city (when they, in fact, had the power to the exact opposite and exhibit some dignity in spite of this event) more than Lord Reno and Sherriff Fred.

2) As someone who heard of this rape very soon after, along with everyone else in Steubenville I was and still am under the impression (and I'm pretty sure, just based on context clues) that "dead body" is not some code that existed before that night. It was in reference to the Nodianos video where he uses it and the rest of them think it's hysterical. So he says it, tweets it and then his friends who witnessed his "hilarious" video rant pick up the term and use it too. Zwick is correct in my opinion.

But I do believe these idiots raped before (see the claims from a victim in April of '12 who says she was raped by members of the baseball team.

3) hopefully Lord Reno is truly stepping aside on Monday as has been rumored and the school can start fresh. The good people of the school/ innocent students, good folks behind the scenes of the football program, etc. deserve it. Big Red's fb program and the University here really are the only things Steubenville has going for it and there are a ton of good, hard-working people here. Unfortunately, they aren't represented by the minority who post as SHS fans on these message boards and have to be represented by FWK. ThinThick, etc.
While I commend you for at least having the correct opinion, this type of situation only happens when good people turn a blind eye to this type of thing. I'm sure the majority of Steubenville is full of good and decent people. But they are just as reprehensible if they knew what was going on for months/years and did nothing.

"There's nothing I could have done about it" has been an excuse for far too long. Good people HAVE to turn a blind eye for corruption to happen. I don't accept the excuse that there's nothing anyone could do.

I see your point I just don't agree. Corruption only exists when good people tell themselves theres nothing they could do, even if that's not the case.

When the sheriff has been unoposed come election time for 30 years, and people say he's known to be corrupt, it's hard to say anyone has really tried to do anything.

Agree and Reps. My County went through that many years ago and kept electing the same Sheriff...until someone ran against him and won.

For those following Anonymous on Twiiter, they tweeted several times about the sheriff and the Spot bar a few hours ago. I'm too lazy to post them as I'm on my iPad.

There was a big write up a few days ago about the Spot Bar. That's where the Sheriff and Reno meet and talk. Also where drugs are sold to people including football players. It is all on the Anon's leak page. They were just reminding people at the protest for those that were not aware.

[LEFT]In each of the 88 counties of Ohio, the sheriff is the chief law-enforcement officer. His primary duties are to provide common pleas court services and corrections on a countywide basis, and full police protection to the unincorporated areas of the county. However, he also maintains full police jurisdiction in all municipalities, townships, and villages. In an effort to become consistent on a statewide level, Ohio sheriffs and deputies wear a standardized uniform, and all patrol vehicles are marked in the same manner.

Within Ohio, sheriff's offices have probably one of the most extensive sets of responsibilities to those they serve. By statute they must provide the following: line law enforcement; court security and service of papers; jail operations; extradition process; and transportation of prisoners.[30]
