We now remove posts that will 'sidetrack' conversation? That task is going to be impossible for you guys to keep up with. Seeing how this is an Internet sports message board.

Especially when every thread gets sidetracked with people commenting on/complaining about the moderation.

It wasn't appropriate either. The HS forum has always had more aggressive enforcement in that regard.

It's a touchy subject, posts are going to get removed regarding this topic due to that.

Fire em all! School board needs to step in and get rid of the coach, principal, and supt. They ALL contributed to screwing this thing up as far as how it was handled! Sounds like the local police are shying away as well. Sad state in the ville!

Too bad Anon and the internet wasn't around back then. Of course, Gerry never made the claim that Klonne made, "We generally followed the rules when I coached at Moeller". "GENERALLY."

Reno will survive. He always does. In reality, the only thing he did wrong was to threaten a reporter who probably deserved being told off. Reno threatens everybody. He once threatened me in front of the entire Boosters Club. I just ignored it. It's part of his abrasive personality.

I don't like Reno. But he was very good to my late father. They were very close friends. For that reason I will respect him.

You don't respect men that try to brush the rape of a teenage girl under the rug and act like it never happened. To say all he did was tell off a reporter is absolutely ridiculous.

That's the only thing he did wrong? I guess he didn't ignore a rape performed by 2 of his players because he 'don't do the Internet.'

Why does the Reno situation have to black or white? Reno is a very complicated person with many shades of gray. I am the first to say that he handled the rape case very poorly. He has a reputation for being very protective of his boys. This time he went too far. As far as his treatment of the reporter, I don't like reporters. Reno has a big mouth but he is a very peaceful man. He wouldn't hurt a fly. As I have already mentioned, he once threatened me in front of the entire Boosters Club. He came storming into the room yelliing, "Where's Fairwoodking?" So much for him not doing the internet. He never laid a finger on me and I knew he wouldn't.

On the good side, Reno has been very kind to people who needed kindness. He was extremely kind to my elderly father. They were great friends. Reno would sometimes ask Dad what Big Red football was like in the 1920's, '30's, '40's, and '50's. Dad saw all those teams. Reno would ask what the lineups were like, what kind of players they had, what the competition was like, etc. But Reno's greatest accomplishment in kindness is what he has done for Matt Firm. He has treated this boy like a king and has done everything possible to help him.

Reno deserves to keep his job. This has nothing to do with football. You don't fire an employee of 30+ years just because he made one foul-up. I don't like him, but I'm on his side. If you choose to disagree with me, that's your perogative. But I'm not changing my mind.

No, he doesn't deserve to keep his job and for you to think so is just ludicrous. One foul up???? We aren't talking about him letting a kid play that had failing grades or something little. We are talking about rape for god's sake. Do you think Paterno should have kept his job too? You Steubenville people just blow my mind when it comes to this. It seems like none of you grasp how big of a deal this is. You guys act like some schmuck on the team was caught just stealing a pack of gum or something.

Just to expound upon this a little, I would think that Fairwood here would harbor a little more empathy for the victims in this situation given his first hand experience with prejudice and being victimized. Reno looking the other way doesn't make the situation go away...it makes him guilty.

Respect a man that does NOTHING to his players following rape allegations? WOW!

The man needs to be fired and then look in the mirror one time...SAD

I never said that. I will quote myself: "I am the first to say that he handled the rape case very poorly." And he did. But did he handle it so badly that he should be fired after 30 years of good service? That is the question.

Depends on when he had or if he had any knowledge don't ya think? Think actual legal matters take precedence over whatever the lousy school board thinks of his handling of the situation after the fact.
