He told players that were going to be questioned by detectives that they should "answer any questions, but don't answer anything that isn't asked." In other words, "don't give away too many details that could get your teammates in trouble."

Take it easy I did see the 20 20 show . I wonder why they only took snipits of the coach in the room . We didnt see the whole interview. You are certainly entitled to your opinion .I am not naive at all . Alot of friends of mine want to hang the coach just like you. None of them ever played for him . I did and I know he has a good family and has done alot of good for many people. He is a god fearing man. I will give him the benifit of the doubt because I know him. In my opinion he made some mistakes along the line ,as far as those mistakes being criminal hell no. He may have thought his guys were innocent when he said tell the total truth but dont offer anything that isnt asked .It is the same thing any parent or lawyer would say . I believe he was lied to by the scumbags thats my take. Alot of people on here and other places dont have any empathy. People need to look in the mirror and think about your lives and what mistakes you have made in your entire life. Im a betting man and I would bet that 9 out of 10 people who want to hang this man have less good works in theyre lives than coach Reno.

According to evidence presented in court, Reno knew that the two were involved in something before the victim's family even went to the police. But he told Ma'lik that he would "take care of it."

He is a state mandated reporter. Witholding anything from the second he was told is criminal. End of story. It doesn't matter if the police knew before he knew, by law he HAD to call police right away. He is going to get nailed with mandated reporter violations.

I do not know if he was told second hand or 3rd hand . Heck I dont live in Steubenville and I heard of things that went on before anything was reported in the media, I have a nephew who is the same age as some of the kids and he knows all those boys. Its impossible to tell fact from fiction . Most of the garbage that came out early on in social media have been found to be completely false. My desire is not to protect anybody . I am trying to give my views in an intellegent and respectful manner. I am disgusted and very angry at a whole bunch of morrally bankrupt kids and possibly adults. I will not rish to judgment on this becuse coach Reno was a coach and teacher of mine and I know a whole lot more about him than most people on here for sure . If it is found that the coach did wrong in the eyes of the law ,then he will be judged accordingly. Since I am not a perfect man in any way shape or form I try and give all people benifit of the doubt especially if I know them.
