As an OSU grad, will be pulling for the Bucks. Wouldn't mind if KU beat them though. Should be a great game. Not sure Williams can hang with Withey down low. Will they put Craft on McLemore?

Should be a pretty good measuring stick on OSU's progress so far, and they have to get production from someone other than Thomas. I look for Smith, Jr. to have a good game, and hoping Ross gets back into the flow as well.

Kansas has been on a roll lately. 84+ points in 4 straight games against decent competition. They looked terrible at the start of the year, but Self is going his thing again this year. OSU will be a good measure of where they're at. I can't wait for Ben McLemore to take national stage in this game. He's been on a tear lately after a slow start, and will be up there for FOY. Averaging 16, 6, and 2. He's a beast.
I'm going to say Kansas wins by 5+.

I don't look for Ross to get much time unless foul trouble forces him onto the court. OSU will need to get out in transition to get easy buckets.vball10set;1347062 wrote:Should be a pretty good measuring stick on OSU's progress so far, and they have to get production from someone other than Thomas. S&L, does Kansas play much zone? If so, this may force Matta to use Ross more.

No, man to man. Self has this incredible Triangle and Two defense he uses every now and then. He used it in the last 10 min of the Elite 8 game against UNC last year. UNC didn't hit a shot for the final 6 min of that game.vball10set;1347297 wrote:S&L, does Kansas play much zone? If so, this may force Matta to use Ross more.

^^^that shoots my Ross theory in the ass then--he has an awful time getting open against man-to-man, and his ball handling isn't the best either.

I thought that Ohio State would win this game until that awful display Tuesday night vs Winthrop. I hope that they were caught looking ahead because if that's all the better the Buckeyes are this one could be ugly. I'm still going to pick Ohio State by 3-5 points, Ravanel has looked much better the last couple games and they will need Craft and Smith Jr. to make some shots. Thomas will get his but Thompson can't play as poorly as he did Tuesday (2 points on dunk put back). Williams will need to at least play some defense and get a couple rebounds, I don't expect him to score much and Ross will need to shoot well when he comes in. Scott needs to play under control and he has shot much better this year. The bench won't go beyond these 8 and If the starters don't get in foul trouble I expect them to play most of the game. Scott will probably get the most minutes unless Ravanel gets in foul trouble early.

Please OSU played so lazy it's unreal. They didn't look for good shots, just threw everything up0311sdp;1347629 wrote:I thought that Ohio State would win this game until that awful display Tuesday night vs Winthrop. I'd say we're more likely to see the team that showed up in the first half against Duke, than we are the team that showed up against Winthrop.

I'll agree with that.se-alum;1347707 wrote:I'd say we're more likely to see the team that showed up in the first half against Duke, than we are the team that showed up against Winthrop.
OSU matches up pretty well against KU, to be honest. KU struggled against Michigan State, and OSU is comparable to them. OSU is more of a 3 guard 2 forward team. Withey struggles when he has to guard a forward. And we just don't have enough perimeter defenders to match up with 3 guards.

Luckily for KU, the only guard they have to worry about hitting outside shots is Lenzelle, and even that is sketchy, but he is capable of going off. Scott, Thompson, and Craft are no threat from deep. If KU stops OSU from getting out and running, they most likely win this game.SportsAndLady;1347709 wrote:I'll agree with that.

Even though the court is in. They will not use it till the Illinois game.

The court isn't permanent. Very few courts are permanent anymore.
I'm assuming they just want to showcase it for the first home Big Ten game. Which would be Nebraska. The home Illinois game is the last game of the season...

They said last week it'll be in for the Chicago state game. Looks like they gave it a test run today on the practice courts.
