Went to the local watering hole last nigh twhen I got back into town and got caught up on some Bobcat Football, Oh boy sounds like there is troubling brewing in Creston. One player quit and numerous more on the top step ready to go, (upperclassmen). Sounds like the coaches have lost the respect of all the players. Dont sound good. Sounds like the Chipps beat them in all aspects of the game. Congrats Chipps!!!! So losing 1 player makes that much of a diffence? Still hear there is no leadership here. Kids standing on the sidelines when they should be playing and kids playing when they should be standing on the sidelines. I knew they lost alot of talent last year but wasnt there alot left? from the sounds of it they may finish the season 6-4. Man I go away for a couple of weeks and they go to Heck in a handbasket! What's going on? anybody got more of the inside scoop?

I believe there were indeed a few of us who said to give Harbour a few years before crowning him the best coach in the league, since he did inherit a class that had been seasoned by another coach and was chock full of talent.bobcat14;1513892 wrote:Went to the local watering hole last nigh twhen I got back into town and got caught up on some Bobcat Football, Oh boy sounds like there is troubling brewing in Creston. I'm thinking that if Harbour's plan was to look good and get a better contract with a more prominent school, he should have done so after last year.

How about my chipps! Nothing better than beating the world beaters and seeing them fall. Epling is becoming one of the if not the top receiver in the league (yes I know he plays TE). Hopefully we can keep things going against the Bears this week.

Don't know what's going on my kids are to young to know anyone on the team. Ever coach succesfull or not goes thru some adversity just the good ones pull through. May not get your answer this season, but see what happens in the next couple years. Do the bobcats revert back to there old ways or does the staff and program pull it back together and stay whipping up on the league??bobcat14;1513892 wrote:Went to the local watering hole last nigh twhen I got back into town and got caught up on some Bobcat Football, Oh boy sounds like there is troubling brewing in Creston. These coaches don't understand that if they want to move on, you do it while you're on top - not when you start sliding. Sounds like there are some ego issues in Creston..?

Norwayne has a solid program down to youth football. They enjoyed a couple great years due to exceptional athletes developed by the former coach. They will not slide back to pre-glory years. May be middle of the road team and will contend some years. Just like every other small school program. No one in Creston should be panicking.

Division 5 Region 16 will be fun to watch the rest of the season. NW 5th Orrville 7th and Chippewa, Norwayne, Wayndale 9,10,11. The next four weeks will be fun to watch to see how things shake out.

Man you guys lose a close very entertaining game and the bottom drops out. Did you or did you not have your 7th and 8th grade teams go undefeated last year? Point is that there is a lot of talent there. Maybe the youngsters got a little big headed with all the winning the last couple of years. The quitting thing drives me nuts! All that is is a High School Athlete wanting attention. I would send a message to the rest...let the kid go and move on. Let them know it is a privilege to play not a right and they are not bigger than the team.bobcat14;1513892 wrote:Went to the local watering hole last nigh twhen I got back into town and got caught up on some Bobcat Football, Oh boy sounds like there is troubling brewing in Creston. Don't know whats going on in Cretvirginia, but if a kid quit due to a loss, Shame on the parents for allowing it to happen. Where is the lesson in finish what you start, perserverance, loyalty...etc.
Someone break out the history books and show the kids, while it is great to win...It hasnt always been rainbows and unicorns in Bobcat country. If the kids wouldve started quitting everytime they lost a game over the last 65 years......Nor-what would've lost football in about 1975.

Anybody positive anyone quit???? Let's all remember I don't think there is any if us in the huddle or locker room on this site.
Lets not be the fan who ALWAYS knows what coverage the team is running and who's responsibility it is when they don't have a clue.
someone may have quit, but do you really know before you start talking about how kids are brought up in their homes. Let's not be that fan

I've seen this happen. It can be rectified, but if not, it can work over the program, as well.rrfan;1514211 wrote:Maybe the youngsters got a little big headed with all the winning the last couple of years.

FACT. I have details. Im not at liberty to discuss said things. Maybe the kid/DAD will try to right the ship, IF the coach allows it.99bobcatdb;1514320 wrote:Anybody positive anyone quit???? Let's all remember I don't think there is any if us in the huddle or locker room on this site.

I heard the kid that quit was the wrestling coaches kid.
Also to the point on good players on the sideline, why not use #64 more? at 6'1" 250 lbs I am sure he can help the team.

Maybe his athlete of the year award is from the Bargain Hunter or the school paper?WCALfootballfan;1515047 wrote:Ok, Back to Div 1 from Rittman. This is from his Scouting Ohio profile, when did he have 80 catches and Athlete of the year????
