This is pretty stupid, considering that all or most teams will have 3-5 days rest for their next game. Yes, the kids don't have school Monday BUT they do play on Friday.
Also that Saturday is open in Ohio in terms of both facilities (if they would have wanted the shoe) and casual fans. OSU plays on Thursday that week.

Games in Tx:
Shiloh Christian (Springdale, Ark.) vs. Trinity (Euless, Texas)
De Soto (De Soto, Texas) vs. Bowie (Arlington, Texas)
Guyer (Denton, Texas) vs. Cedar Hill (Cedar Hill, Texas)
Aquinas (Fort Lauderdale, Fla.) vs. Skyline (Dallas, Texas)

OH games still in the works, but it looks like Glenville High School will play against Florida power Dwyer High School at the SHOE.

From what I've read, the games are:

Dublin Coffman vs. Westerville South
Canton-McKinley vs. Huber Heights Wayne
Cleveland Glenville vs. Dwyer (FL)
Pickerington Central vs. Oscar Smith (VA)

This event has really turned into a snoozer.

The snoozer is only in Ohio. Looks like the TX games draw all the high power teams.

This event does not have any defending state champs involved. Davidson, Winton Woods, Mooney or Alter should be playing in this. Glenville vs. Dawyer looks to be an intriguing contest of speed and athleticism. Who are the favorites?

When the event started, it was one-of-a-kind and an amazing event that was very fun to attend (I went to the first 2 years of games at Nippert Stadium). Ever since, though, it's gone down hill, and I'll probably stop going.

Those games with Lakeland, Byrnes, DeMatha, Independence, Hoover, Colerain, Moeller, St. Xavier, Elder, etc etc... they were what the event was supposed to be about, IMO (top teams in the country), not Dublin Coffman vs. Westerville South. Ugh.

They shouldn't play any games that can already be scheduled, like these Ohio matchups.

Defending state champs aren't guaranteed to be good this year. They should not pick teams based upon last year's success, but rather who they think will be good this year.

I agree... I'm not a big fan of two OCC teams playing each other in an event like this. If they're going to have Ohio vs. Ohio at least have a Cincy vs. C-bus, or Cincy vs. Cleveland, or C-bus vs. Cleveland.

Otherwise, the games need to be Ohio vs. the rest of the country.

The Pick Central vs. Oscar Smith match-up looks like a good one, and the Glenville vs. Dwyer should be good too.

Well, I have to disagree Walt. If you follow this event closely over the years you'd know they usually go by who was good the previous season. All of the teams I've named are usually good every year and have won multiple state championships this decade.

I live in the Indianapolis area. This will be ugly. Plainfield isn't even a great Indiana team. No way they compete. Central should win by 40+. If they don't, then Central will be in trouble the rest of the year.

Its a little early for fishing----------outside or in--------but Glenville vs Dwyer, and Pick Central vs Oscar Smith will not be "snoozer" games---to say Texas has all the top teams and games is just sour grapes---Dude-

Oscar Smith is a Big D1 in the play-offs every year type team-----comparable to St. Thomas Aquainis--big and fast with an aggressive style offense---they can be seen on Youtube---------------pretty sure ther either won the state championship(VA) or were close recently---------

I think Oscar Smith lost in the VA state semis last season, but were VA state champs in 2008. They have only lost one regular season game in the past five years.
