Any chance Urban is going to retire again due to stress?

I'd imagine that team meeting this morning was intense.

Apparently Meyer said very little and Gene Smith yelled at them for like 20 minutes lol

Been rumors for a while that he won't stop smoking weed.

Yeah I think since it followed the Hyde incident, the natural reaction is that Roby's incident is perceived as worse than it would be on its own. Once looked at as its own incident, I don't think the punishment will not be too extreme.

@ramzy: Not condoning violence, but if you cannot take a shove to the chest, your security ceiling should be working Petsmart on petting puppies day

This may seem minuscule and maybe just a philosophical difference, but this wall bothers me a bit. I guess I would find it more appropriate to say treat OTHERS with respect. I think everybody deserves the same amount of respect regardless. They also deserve to be held to the same standard that can result in losing respect.

Reps, and like this in particular ...
We can go through all the machinations of Ohio State and coach Urban Meyer and his history of dealing with troubled players at Florida. Who cares? This time, in this instance, Meyer did what every coach should do: eliminated a problem from his team and sent a message to the rest of his players. Too bad that’s the minority reaction in sports these days.
More commonly, we have Les Miles saying he will wait until the legal system runs its course. Miles called Hill’s arrest and conviction for simple battery a “legal entanglement”—which is coachspeak for I’m waiting to see what the judge says. The big question: Why wait?

Obviously we know very few details of the Hyde incident; however depending on the facts of the Hyde incident, Jeremy Hill running up from behind and sucker punching a guy that had just gotten beat by somebody else could actually be worse. That being said, I think people will ignore the details of each situation and just focus on the parties involved and conclude that Hill's wasn't as bad.

So now OSU is saying that he hasn't been kicked off the team? Well that's at least what Gabe Spiegel tweeted from Cleveland Channel 8 tweeted.

I know Gabe personally, he's a good guy. I know he's got some good insider access, so who knows?

Well there is obviously more to the story. He also tweeted that she was not knocked out since people were running with that part of the story. It seems rather obvious that if a girl got knocked out in the middle of one of the most popular bars in Columbus that has happens to have quite a few bouncers and cops outside it, that this would have been a major story that very morning.

Thanks whoever answered my question that the wall pictured in this thread is in the Woody Hayes Center. Nothing about that wall is unique to Ohio State, but it is a sad statement of today's college football that something like that is necessary - to remind young men with a big sign on the wall that they should avoid drugs and weapons. Again, I'm not saying these problems or lessons are unique to Ohio State. Just pathetic that this is something that merits reminding in such an overt way.
