Underage/open is idiotic but not something major unless it becomes a pattern (multiple offenses).

College kids drink. The key is not being stupid about it.

When it rains, it pours. Let's get all this shit out of the way now, have Meyer do what he needs to do, and move on...hopefully without further incident.

Yeah, but 3 legal issues in 1 weekend, all involved alcohol.

Alcohol is involved with most stupid decisions during college and life. College kids drink and will make some choices (good or bad), and they will hopefully learn. A zero tolerance alcohol policy would just be a gross overreaction.

Can't see Roby getting kicked off the ream but it puts Meyer in a terrible position. If/when Roby plays, people like our good friend CCW will go crazy with it saying Meyer is allowing thugs on the team.

0 tolerence more in the fact of if you get an alcohol induced or related offense, there is a mandatory minimum punishment. I drank a shit ton of beer underage, I even had a fake ID I used like crazy, but I never got caught, nor did I fight bouncers or punch girls in the face. You have to be really dumb to get caught (Bell was riding with a guy who got a DUI).

Who cares what others think. Meyer has been proactive and not taking shit from anyone. Its not a guarantee that everyone would have already booted a player that is a person of interest.

I guess we are just starting from different definitions of zero tolerance alcohol policy.

It just sounds like you want harsher punishment in general (such as Urban has done with Hyde). I have no problem with that. But on the same note you do have to show some forgiveness and provide paths for correcting behavior for relatively minor offenses, which is why I'm again zero tolerance policies. You have to handle each situation on a case by case basis as every human is different.

Urban has to be about ready to go nuts as to how much this crap will consume his valuable time. He should communicate to his players that a few fuckers have ruined it for everyone and are off the team and you have 2 choices

1. Continue to work hard, improve, play for a National Championship and then have a career on Sundays.

Or

2. Do something that causes me and OSU grief and negativity to the school and program and be kicked off the team also.

PS....please choose choice #1
