There's been some hum about 2-3 guys, but mostly some uncommitted FL recruits who actually had some mild interest in UK before, now being a bigger player. Who knows...

Petrino is also still on their radar, but they are said to be doing "research"

Monte Kiffin is out at USC.
@USC_Athletics: USC assistant football coach Monte Kiffin has resigned effective after the bowl game to pursue opportunities in the NFL.

That's a shame, I thought he did a great job with that defense.

Dave Doeren celebrates MAC Championship for approximately 18 hours, takes NC State job.

Rod Carey (assistant) will coach NIU in bowl game, it appears. He may actually be promoted to head coach full time, we'll see. Details just starting to emerge.

the earlier you take a job the better for recruiting purposes. bowl games are meaningless

Oh I know. Central Michigan did it twice in 4 seasons (Brian Kelly left after 2006 MAC title game, Butch Jones after 2009 - interestingly enough, both beat Ohio in the game, and both left for Cincinnati). Only thing that surprised me was that it was the VERY next day, that was damn fast.

He had to be the worst coach in history. In 1 season goes from 12-2 conference champs to 0-12. With 13 returning starters from that team.

Yeah it was bad. USM also changed a home game scheduled with Nebraska next year to be at Nebraska in exchange for a payout that is approximately the same as the buyout they'll owe said coach ($2.1 M)

Kirby Smart to Tennessee? I remember hearing his name linked to the Vols after Kiffin left...and even a month into this season.

Now that Bama has won the SEC, it's a perfect time to announce it and that he "will or won't coach in the NCG."

Darrell Hazell is reportedly interviewing with Cal. Interesting choice since most of his experience is in the eastern parts of the U.S. I thought he'd be a good choice to fill an opening like Louisville if/when Charlie Strong leaves or the Boston College job.

I added Doeren to your list, web, as NIU has said they will look externally some and not just hand it over internally immediately.
