Whoa, why? Isn't there some kind of family health issues or am I thinking of someone else?

Pinkel resigning is very surprising
Although they did get embarrassed all season long.

Right now it's just rumor. A lot of people wondering why he would as well.
Article states that, are you sitting down, Jim Tressel has been spotted on campus the past few weeks and is rumored to be interviewing.
I really hope Tressel doesn't end up with a B1G school. That's feel weird. Maybe he's a consultant helping with the coaching search.

Purdue is a team that has a chance to be bowl eligible every year. Not sure why Purdue would want to hire him with 4 years of his 5 year show-cause left.

Tressel got slapped with a 5-year Show Cause penalty after the tattoo incident, a school would be crazy to hire him during this 5-year window. If I understand the sanction correct, the hiring school would have to prove to the NCAA why they too shouldn't be sanctioned for hiring him, and even if they get past that hurdle, any small infraction under his watch would be magnified for the hiring school.

Word is Pinkel was not on board with joining the SEC, he sees the writing on the wall that they will not be able to compete, will be interesting to see were he ends up if he does resign.
Even mention Tressel, and the fact that Purdue is reportedly raising $4.5 million to find the next coach and staff. I don't think Tress will get hired or approached, still interesting.

Tress would be a great hire for a down and out team that needs to put people in the stands.

Tress won't take another job in the B1G IMO. He's too loyal to Ohio State

He'll take whoever the best team is that offers. Don't kid yourself.
Not sure if we're doing BCS schools here or all of D1, but Western Michigan whacked Bill Cubit last week (they played their last game on 11/17, losing to EMU, and fired him a couple hours later). Also Mike Price is resigning/reitring at UTEP.
Idaho shitcanned Robb Akey midseason, so technically it's open I think. Interim Jason Gesser was not formally awarded the permanent job. yet. He may end up getting it, but they may interview others.

Saw that Embree and the Colorado players were very surprised that he was fired. That in itself surprised me.
The program is in much worse shape than it was with Dan Hawkins. They were one of the worst teams in college football this season.
