I disagree. What Kent State needs is help in the polls. This is the only way they get to the top 16. They need to beat Northern Illinois. They need UCLA to lose to Stanford. Boise State to lose to Nevada. Oklahoma to lose to TCU.

If Boise wins, it's likely they finish ahead of Kent State and COULD end up with the non-BCS bid, or at least be slotted ahead of them. If Oklahoma wins, they are BCS bound, which would make this a moot discussion.

I really think you are making it more complicated than it is......

There is no Auto bid to be earned by Oklahoma beating TCU.
If Boise wins, they are getting an auto-bid. Simple as that. Impossible for anybody to jump them in the standings, except UCLA. However that will only drop them 1 spot to 16.

Oklahoma, with a win at TCU, will get the last at-large bid if there is no-AQ. The reason I said they need to lose is because literally 1 team dropping in the polls could be enough to put a non-AQ into the top 16. They need as many of those teams to fall as possible...not that it's mandatory, but preferable.

It would be great if they did but I agree with you, it isn't going to happen.

BCS:

Kent 17
Boise 20
NIU 21

Harris had Boise 17, Kent 18, and NIU 19, but the computers saw through it, and rather strongly.

There's no chance. The best they will get is #17 in the BCS even if they beat NIU by 4,000 points.

Yep, if Stanford beats UCLA for the Pac-12 and Kent beats NIU for the MAC, I don't see how Boise could jump them or how Kent would not move up to 16.

If UCLA wins, the Big East will sadly keep their spot.

I'd much rather see Kent go and lose by 50 and rake in the money for them and the MAC than watching the Big East go and lose by 50 yet again.

that's crazy. the orange bowl will get ugly fast if this happens. clemson and fsu have about 10 dri archer's each. also, florida against the big east representative will be comical as well

Texas can jump Kent State with a win against Kansas State this weekend due to the computer polls. So, add that to the list of things that need to happen for them to grab a BCS bowl bid.

Per Espin: At the other end of the standings, No. 17 Kent State (11-1) is just one place away from earning a spot in a BCS bowl after moving up six places this week.

The Golden Flashes play No. 21 Northern Illinois in the MAC championship on Friday. If the winner of that game moves up to No. 16 and remains ahead of a conference champion from an automatic-qualifying school, it will crash the BCS party.

There is no Big East team ranked in the top 25, and there is room for Kent State to move up if No. 16 UCLA loses to No. 8 Stanford in the Pac-12 Championship on Friday and No. 18 Texas loses at No. 6 Kansas State.

the big east would still have a representative i believe. fiesta would select oregon followed by the sugar bowl taking the big east champ and then the orange bowl will be forced to take kent st

hopefully they would match up with the Big East champ so they could beat them again.

LOLing at everybody saying there was no chance.

Lol and this has to deal with kent st and the Mac how?

Honestly I think northern Illinois would fare better in a bcs bowl than kent st but it would be tough for them to get to 16. Kent st beating Rutgers helped them big time

Honestly I didn't think it was until the bcs standings came out. The computers helped kent st big time. I would love it for the MAC

A "normal" Orange Bowl of ACC/BE would be a ratings disaster this year as well.

This year has been so freaking awesome. Every year on EA Sports NCAA 10, 11, 12, and 13 I've done an online dynasty with some friends and we build up schools. My school has always been Kent State. I've followed them every year because of that but this year has been great because they're actually good and may go to a BCS game. Seems exactly like it is with me as them on the game, haha. I've probably annoyed the hell out of my friends talking about Kent State but it's awesome.

I know, cool story bro, but it's been fun following them this year for a completely random reason.

Clearly you didn't watch the championship game last year; like 99% of America.
