Speaking of which, Rutgers will formally announce tomorrow that they are accepting their invite to the B1G.

Rutger's bowl wins since 2000 = 5killer_ewok;1325194 wrote:Speaking of which, Rutgers will formally announce tomorrow that they are accepting their invite to the B1G.
Your telegraph must be on the fritz...in case you haven't heard ad nauseum...Barkley took a dive and will not play on Sat. so the potato eaters have backed into the NC game without a scratch on 'em. 'Bama will beat that team by 35.Terry_Tate;1325625 wrote: so if they intercept Barkley as he's throwing a pass into the endzone Saturday to win and Bama wins out the comparisons will get out of control. .

Alright, if they intercept whatever USC QB is playing as he's throwing a potential game winning TD into the endzone. Forgot that about Barkley, was trying too hard to be funny with the Golson comment.Tiernan;1325715 wrote:Your telegraph must be on the fritz...in case you haven't heard ad nauseum...Barkley took a dive and will not play on Sat. so the potato eaters have backed into the NC game without a scratch on 'em. How exactly would Alabama's average offense score 35 points on one of the best defenses in the country?Tiernan;1325715 wrote:Your telegraph must be on the fritz...in case you haven't heard ad nauseum...Barkley took a dive and will not play on Sat. so the potato eaters have backed into the NC game without a scratch on 'em. I hope you're making a joke, there is nothing average about Alabama on either side of the ball. They run it well, throw it well and play great defense (except for the Texas A & M game) While I don't agree that Alabama would win by 35 points, I think a 10-14 point win would be about right. And I'm not saying that because I'm a ND hater, I think we would see the same result had it been Oregon or Kansas State.Mooney44Cards;1326353 wrote:How exactly would Alabama's average offense score 35 points on one of the best defenses in the country?
They're not in the top 20-25 in either rushing or passing. Despite playing a mostly cupcake schedule mind you. They're efficient. They do what they have to do to win. But then again so does Notre Dame. I'm not really saying Notre Dame would win necessarily, but I'm not really as enamored or impressed with what Alabama has done this season. The Michigan win was great, but they didn't play anybody even remotely good after that until LSU over 2 months later. They proceeded to nearly lose that game, then actually lose a week later. Then play another cupcake to back their way into the championship picture again.0311sdp;1326356 wrote:I hope you're making a joke, there is nothing average about Alabama on either side of the ball. Anyone can lose on a given day as was proven last weekend by Oregon and Kansas State. I hate the SEC and root for whoever they play out of conference but to say that Alabama is not one of the elite teams in college football, I just don't know what you're watching. I would say that Alabama would be the favorite on a neutral field against any team in the country so if they're not an elite program who is?Classyposter58;1326459 wrote:Alabama isn't ELITE this season, they could certainly lose even before the National title. The way Georgia is playing who knows
Elite teams don't lose period, let alone lose at home to two-loss teams. Being the best in any given year (which they probably are) doesn't automatically make you elite.0311sdp;1326808 wrote:Anyone can lose on a given day as was proven last weekend by Oregon and Kansas State. Miami 2002 wasn't elite?Mooney44Cards;1326944 wrote:Elite teams don't lose period, let alone lose at home to two-loss teams. Being the best in any given year (which they probably are) doesn't automatically make you elite.
