I just watched Manziel's speech for the first time. It was solid, I didn't expect that.

Even if Te'o had a better year than Shazier, for someone to say that it (Te'o's season) is one of the greatest defensive seasons of all time is the most idiotic, ignorance ridden post I have read on here in weeks, considering the source wasn't being sarcastic.

Now that's something to lol about.

True.

Your overuse of ignorance is up there too.

Wouldn't be necessary if it didn't run rampant and people actually realize I'm using it for it's literal definition. I'm not apologizing for those ignorant to the definition of ignorant, such as anyone who thinks Te'o's season is one of the all time great defensive seasons.

Crimson streak;1338922 wrote:What I find really funny is last year the big 12 sucks its an offensive league with no no defense and they would get blasted by sec teams. Since now Texas a&m is in the sec there just so great since they lit up bama and other sec teams but yet all the other big 12 teams suck. It's really comical
They finished 3rd in the SEC West and was the 5th or 6th best team in the conference. I dont call that great. You're acting like they won the conference.
And for the Johnny football name, he had that in high school.

A&M lost to Florida. A&M lost to LSU. Alabama and Georgia played for the SEC Championship. A&M had a great year, they had a Heisman winner, but they didn't dominate the SEC. Like CGW said, and normally I don't agree with most of his points, but they finished at-best, 5th in the conference.

Not a big deal...yet?

http://www.yardbarker.com/college_football/articles/msn/texas_a_m_met_with_johnny_manziel_and_his_parents_about_post_heisman_behavior/12658690

Johnny Manziel has gone from a relatively unknown college football player to a celebrity athlete in a matter of months. His legend grew after he helped Texas A&M beat national champion Alabama at Tuscaloosa in November, and his celebrity status was cemented after he won the Heisman Trophy in December. With the increased fame has come increased scrutiny. Manziel has made headlines for going clubbing after winning his Heisman, sitting courtside at a Mavericks-Heat NBA game, and flashing cash inside an Oklahoma casino. Though Manziel may not have broken any rules in those instances, he may have generated unwanted attention that Texas A&M would like him to avoid.
Texas A&M’s athletic director met with Manziel and his parents to talk about how to best handle his new fame.
“I told them he’s no longer a freshman, and he’s no longer a sophomore, junior or senior. He is a ‘Heisman,’” athletic director Eric Hyman told the San Antonio Express-News on Sunday.
Hyman stressed how life-changing it is to be a Heisman Trophy winner.
“It’s (about) education, and we’ve got to help the family and Johnny with the transition into being a Heisman award winner,” Hyman said. “There are things you have to learn, and we have to help him with that.”
“That’s a special fraternity, but you also have to understand (Manziel) is 20 years old,” Hyman said. “It’s a tremendous responsibility — but it is a responsibility.”
Does this mean all the fun is gone now that Manziel’s had a meeting inside the principal’s office? Let’s hope not. He has been one of the most entertaining athletes over the past few months. Unfortunately, this sounds a heck of a lot like when the Patriots told Rob Gronkowksi that the “summer of Gronk” was over.

Dark horse will be Jeremy Hill from LSU. He didnt become a starter until half way thru the season as a freshman. Only had 13 carries the first 6 games but became the starting RB in game 7. He ended up having 755 yards and 12 td's. With 2 RB's leaving for the draft and not picking up any for the 2013 class, he will be used alot instead of a 4 RB stable. I see a 1,000 yards easily.

I watched him several times, when I was able to stay awake. LSU's O is a real snoozer.

He won't be in the discussion. At all.

I forgot to mention Yeldon. I'm not sure he'll have the numbers and it will be hard to get any Heisman hype with McCarron returning.
