Pretty good read here. Also of note, I found it interesting (and surprising) that this guy is an Ohio State fan yet thinks neither Eddie George (who is my favorite OSU football player of all-time...and I'm far from a Buckeye fan) nor Archie Griffin deserved their Heismans (well, he thought Archie's 2nd was a gift, the first one was legit and I think pretty much everybody will agree on that).

Scott Serles is a complete moron. Eddie George had an amazing season in '95 and no Ewok we all don't agree Archie Griffin shouldn't have won it in '75 - he set the NCAA Career rushing record (at the time) that year and that earned it in mine and many other's books. If you want to pick on OSU look no further than good ol' TWHPIH - how the Fk this turd won it is still a mystery to me.

I suppose the Heisman voters will hand it over to Johnny Jackass just to piss me off.

Also, and this is just my opinion, if a freshman wins the Heisman, it will dilute the award even further.

The goal of Ohio State is not to win NCs. The goal of Ohio State is to promote one of the strongest academic schools on the planet.

You need to go back and re-read, I said,"the first one was legit and I think pretty much everybody will agree on that."

Anyways, so you're saying Griffin deserved his 2nd Heisman based on setting the career rushing record at that time even though other RB's put up better numbers that season? Personally, looking at the numbers, I think that Muncie clearly deserved it over Archie. But, Archie has two and nothing changes that. I'll say the same for Dayne, that was a career achievement award for him that year.

They don't always get the Heisman voting right, but it is what it is.

OK I'll go thru it again for the umpteenth time...

In 2005 TWHPIH attends a QB camp in Tenn and gets paid $500 for doing so and tries to hide it from OSU officials (he says he didn't now it was illegal to do so) but still tried to hide it. So Jimmy The Liar suspends him from starting the TX game but says he will rotate during the game with Justin Zwick. Well we all know how rotating QBs during big games is maybe the dumbest asinine thing you can do but JTL does it anyway cementing his position as one of the worst X & Os coaches in CFB history. But Zwick gets the Offense moving and hits Hamby in the end zone with a perfect strike and the big goon drops it. What does JTL do? He puts TWHPIH back in the game and he never crosses the 50 in the second half. And OSU is knocked from the NC race.

In 2006 after winning the Heisman TWHPIH goes on a pot smoking munchie eating binge during Dec and puts on 25 lbs before the NC game and then two nights before the game screws Anthony Gonzalez GF causing a huge locker room morale split between the players that have a clue and the followers of TWHPIH who are mostly idiots and he completely screws the pooch during the game costing us the second NC in two years.

I don't see anything wrong with Manziel winning it as a freshman. He's had an outstanding, record-breaking year in a season with few "super stars."

Wasn't Zwick the starter for the first several games of 2005 until Troy finally beat him out for the job?

Nothing concrete, just more of a feeling, I guess. I do understand that it's an annual award and is given out for that season's achievements, but I still feel it should also reward a player for "paying his dues", so to speak. Again, this is just the way I feel, but I also know that this isn't the way it's done.

My sister had classes with T. Smith and said he was very sharp and well respected for his achievements OFF the field.
