I think in college it is diff as that is their profession, coaching football, and making tons of money doing so. Most HS football jobs are just part time money for these guys and I dont think warrant their names coming out in the public. Just how I feel about the situation.
If you are a school looking for a new coach I would advise people to not let it out, as I said before, as it very well could make the pressure more and have the coach change his mind. Now..if there is a guy ya really dont want/like...by all means blab it to everyone!
Stated an example in the other post, and there was another one that I cannot believe I forgot. Our former HS coach, God Rest His Soul, was sought after by Massillon a few years ago. He interviewed, and they wanted him. When it got out publicly and everyone knew, and much of it did come from message boards from 'insiders' up in NE Ohio, it really put the pressure on him and he ended up withdrawing his name/turning down the job. From knowing the family I know almost for a certain fact that if everyone didnt know about it that there was a much, much better chance at him taking it. It was their loss, and our gain. They really missed out on a tremendous coach and man.
