Nor should they.
I think in college it is diff as that is their profession, coaching football, and making tons of money doing so. Most HS football jobs are just part time money for these guys and I dont think warrant their names coming out in the public. Just how I feel about the situation.

If you are a school looking for a new coach I would advise people to not let it out, as I said before, as it very well could make the pressure more and have the coach change his mind. Now..if there is a guy ya really dont want/like...by all means blab it to everyone!

Stated an example in the other post, and there was another one that I cannot believe I forgot. Our former HS coach, God Rest His Soul, was sought after by Massillon a few years ago. He interviewed, and they wanted him. When it got out publicly and everyone knew, and much of it did come from message boards from 'insiders' up in NE Ohio, it really put the pressure on him and he ended up withdrawing his name/turning down the job. From knowing the family I know almost for a certain fact that if everyone didnt know about it that there was a much, much better chance at him taking it. It was their loss, and our gain. They really missed out on a tremendous coach and man.

What fun would that be? Sites like this would be a lot less relevant without rumors!

Billy Burke is our guy.

Burke coached at Medina Buckeye High School from 2007-2011, where he compiled a 26-25 record, won three conference championships, and made a state Division III playoff berth in 2009.

I'll give him 3 max. If he hasn't shown me anything by then, I'm not interested in a 4th.

You're not helping yourself when you try to convince yourself you're not another poster on another website, but keep repeating the same things he says too. :p

Agree with mdd, if nothings changed after 3, no way do we need to go a 4th year.

The rumors of Amyx coming on staff would definitely make it interesting.

Awesome. Kids already brought home a package from the coach with expectations from the players and what they can expect from him and stuff, plus a schedule. Good start.

There are still legs to this rumor? I personally would be shocked. Wouldn't the new coach be afraid of the kids showing more respect to Amyx than to him?

I messaged you about it on Facebook. Rumor is he's taking over the freshman program and will be on the varsity staff. Amyx was one of the interviewers, so if true, I'm sure it was discussed.

I think its a bad move on the new Coaches part to have Amyx on His staff, The first time He struggles the good Folk at Logan will be calling for His head and want Amyx back in charge

Over 80 kids turned out at Coach Burke's meeting the other night. Then he pulled all the Seniors away and talked to them separately. Kids came out quite impressed.

This guy was no good at his last job. He quit right before the season but even before that he was not a good coach. He won with the old coach's kids but not as he grew into the program. He had a lot of kids quit. He is a yeller and a screamer - to the point of embarresment.

The school had a $400 pay to play policy that was put in place during his tenure . What coach do you know that is going to win with that at a little school?

Pay to play had been at that school long before Burke came there. The old coach had them winning league titles and in the playoffs. Program has slid back under Burke. He just didn't care about the kids. Who quits right before a season?

A coach who coaches at a school that gives him a reason to quit right before a season.
