I live just outside northwest DC, in Maryland, so my vote counted this morning haha.
Got in line around 6:30, polls in MD opened at 7. Waited around 30 minutes, and did not have anyone outside our polling place.
Lines were typical for a Presidential election. No intimidation or anything. Everyone was pretty chill.
MD should go for Obama, but the ballot had a ton of other issues of important, these include race for Senate, and:
Issue 5: Pretty much a State version of the DREAM Act for Maryland
Issue 6: For the legalization of same-sex marriage. Polling suggests this may actually pass with a wide margin.
And the big one, Issue 7: Legalized gambling in the state of Maryland. MD wants to have casinos and table games to keep the money instate, so people do not have to head to WV or Delaware. Looked 50/50 last time I looked.

As to other areas, got into work, talked to co-workers who voted in VA. It is a long line mess as well.
I've had several co-workers wait 2 hours in VA to vote.
No idea what that means in terms of the election, but turnout does seem to be high all over the place.

Expect the left and right media to post skewed-exit polls all day just in case it might influence the vote that little bit for their candidate.ptown_trojans_1;1314031 wrote:And they will be wrong haha.

Gannett reported Romney had 92k lead among early votes in Ohio, then pulled it down citing that the numbers are not to be released until after the polls close.

As it should be. Not that it should matter, but obviously it can influence potential voters in more ways than one.se-alum;1314066 wrote:Gannett reported Romney had 92k lead among early votes in Ohio, then pulled it down citing that the numbers are not to be released until after the polls close.
Apparently early voting was down in some Democratic counties. I'm not sure I believe any of these reports because, again referring to the above, I don't think anything has been officially released. I think what we are getting is anecdotal/partial leaks that probably don't paint an accurate picture.

Heard overall early turnout in Ohio was up a little; with Romney/McCain counties up 14% and obama/Kerry counties down 4%.
Also got an email (with pics of the lines) from a co-worker in Florida who said they usually wait no more than 10 minutes to vote; today it was 2 hours, and by all accounts it was heavy for Romney.
Hope all this holds up.

Exit polls?
More like entrance poles. Because either way, we're getting fucked.
