If the girls are fortunate enough to get to Columbus, that would make our 28th Final 4 appearance in all sports (boys/girls).

Go Red Riders!

If Orrville girls and Hiland girls win today with West Holmes already punching a ticket that would be very impressive for the area. Good luck to all!

Congrats to Orrville (D3), Hiland (D4) and West Holmes (D2) all heading to Columbus. How good is the area basketball in Wayne and Holmes? Would have been sweet if Wadsworth (D1) would have won today. Good luck to all moving forward.

Special year of basketball in the county. I looked at STO and they are not showing that any of these games will be televised on Thursday. That is a real shame if you ask me!

While I agree that it is a shame that they don't show the semi-final matchups... they never have.

It looks as if our Rider Crowd may be a little smaller on Thursday. Sounds as if the Super has decided not to dismiss early to allow kids and teachers to get to Columbus to support this great team. Kids will be able to send a note and get out early. Why on earth would you not allow the teachers to go and follow this team? BAD MOVE! I wonder if the super will attend the game? School should be done at 12:00 so the whole town can be at the game.

Wow. That is unreal. My guess is that there will be enough complaints that the super will change his tune?

Well, someone should remind him he is trying to pass a levy and this move will not help in Orrville!

Probably have the initials wrong, but a lot of the kids have (OTG) State testing this week, I heard they checked in to changing it, but it’s a State wide test and could not get it changed, My kid does not have to go in until later because of it, but I think all Sophomores and Maybe Freshmen have to take it, I might have this wrong. My question would be why OHSAA scheduled a game during a mandatory state test so early in the day. I will ponder that question while I sit up in the upper deck of the gymnasium with the rest of ORRVILLE, as I; look down at all the empty chairs at court side. Hopefully it will be better then when the boys went to state and both teams were in the upper corners.

Good points Rider Dad, I just find it hard to believe that there is not a way around this. Even if there is not how can you not let all those not effected by this testing go and support this team? He did not let the teachers from the middle school or elementary out early to go to state in volleyball season and there was not testing done then.

I was told if kids have a note from parents they can go, if not my kids will be taking fake vomit to school to throw down about 12:00 to get out of school, because we are going down, so I will see you all at in-school suspension on Friday. All joking aside my kid is one of the ring leaders of the cheering and I have only heard positive comments from Jon , he is as excited as we are to see the student body get into the games like they have been.

Are the teachers supposed to bring a note too?

on a side note your kid and the ring leaders have done a great job!

The student section has been awesome! Reminds me of back in the early 90's playing Waynedale at the fieldhouse and half of the student section was dressed in complete Amish garb.

Also playing St. V and dressing like grim reapers and priests!

However, our representation of Moses parting the waters may be the best thing I have seen! Keep it up guys and lets GO LADY RIDERS!!

I believe that at girls finals the tickets are good for both DIII games and most seating is in the lower deck. That's what I heard but I am not sure. Anyone been there with any input?

Yes, as opposed to the boys finals where most of the lower level seats on the sides are for coaches, the girls finals allow fans to occupy those seats.

Yea, I am not sure why they do that with the boys tickets would be nice if the fans could be closer. But I cannot complain about my seat when we made it! ;)

It will be a typical day for the students...but I'm guessing the super, dean, ad and principal will be down in Columbus taking in the game.

I'm sure they'll be paid for the day too.

Just wish teachers would have the opportunity to attend just the same.

Technically the Super will be cheating Waynedale, and Rittman that day so he should pay them for not working all the districts that day. I am sure he will do that...right? What a joke!

Will not having a day off from school for the teachers really be a hindrance if you were voting to pass the levy? That's a fickle voter! LOL!

Getting paid...that's the beauty of holding those types of positions. Makes you wonder if the Super's going to get a nice +/- $83K bonus too!!! LOL!

Can't fault him!

I can fault him. He had the choice to do the right thing and dismiss school at 12:00 to allow all students and teachers to go and support the girls. He decided not to so now I want to know will he be attending? If so he should find a sub for his other districts like he is making the teachers do!
