Indians showing interest in Michael Bourn per Buster Olney

I like the sounds of that, but if we're gonna spend more money, why didn't we invest in more pitching when it was available?

Bourn would be a perfect fit for what we need. Get it done

Not going to happen. As I have said before, if I were a MLB fa, I would go to the tribe to jack my price up for another team to sign me.

I head Tribe, among many other teams, are interested. But they are waiting for the price tag to drop significantly. That means, imo, it will likely drop, but not far enough for Cleveland. I see it dropping into another teams price range...while we are in a range unto ourselves.

Two things. One, this would definitely get the Dolans back on my goodside. Two, think about that depth: Brantley, Stubbs, Bourn, Swisher, Carrerra. Swisher can play first. No more Kotchman, Damon, Duncan, Cunningham, Lopez games.

I really hope this Yan Gomes turns out, we desperately need a viable option at catcher not named Lou Marson.

That would allow Swish and Santana to DH a little more as well.

It would be a great signing, and give them a lot more versatility. But....we are talking about the Dolans.

Jordan Bastian of mlb.com speculates that Asdrubal Cabrera will be traded befori next year's winter meetings, but remember Chris Antonetti called Cabrera the "shortstop of the future"

Does Bastian's speculation carry weight? Is this a move to rebuild the farm or Is Lindor ready? What's your take?

Lindor still has at least a year or 2 before he's ready. I think this year is big to see what Chiz has. If he doesn't have it I would be ok with moving drubs to 3rd when Lindor is ready

It would be great....saddling the wretched Stubbs to the bench.

Tribes inks Aviles to a two year deal with an option. keeps open the possibility of a Druby trade if the the right deal comes along. (Lindor NOT ready for prime time yet). Cost of the deal is $3mill/year.

You want negativity? Ask all the reds fans about Stubbs. Bourne is 10 times the player. But I'm not worried, Stubbs won't play with or without Bourne.

I think Bourn is going to be seeking a 1 year deal at this point where ever he goes, and then try free agency again next year.

That is a classic Scott Boras tactic when a market doesn't develop as he had hoped for his clients. He did the same thing with Beltre a few years ago, and then he parlayed that strong 1 year deal into a 5 year deal the next year.

Unless he pulls a long term deal out of his ass for Bourn, I think he is going to the highest bidder as a 1 year rental.

I could actually see the Dolan's considering a 1 year $10-13 million deal, which is probably the range he is looking for if that is the route they go. I just don't see anyone ponying up the 7 year deal Boras was looking for at the start of the off-season, and usually he will take the 1 year deal over a 2-3 year deal every day of the week and twice on Sundays.

I'd love to have Bourne at 1 yr 12-13 mill. At that point you go all in and try to sign lohse too to try and win the division

Agree with this.

LOL on Giambi. I'd rather have Thome.
But apparently the Indians wouldn't.....http://www.mlbdailydish.com/2013/2/8/3967038/mlb-rumors-indians-jim-thome-no-longer-an-option

Bourne will also cost a first round draft pick right? Paying a lot for him.

Wrong. First round pick is protected (top ten pick) and the second was already spent in signing Swisher. It would only be a third round pick, and Cleveland has two.
