Word is that Dawkins has completely revamped his game, and has really worked to become a more complete player. The kid has mad hops. I'm talking as good as almost anybody in the country on the wing. You just hardly got to see it because he was afraid of crossing the three-point line his first three years at Duke, as if he would disappear or something if he tried it.
He showed glimpses, though. Against Georgia Tech in the 2010 ACC title game, Andre rose to success escalator style on his way to one of the most spontaneous and out-of-nowhere dunks I've ever seen. Standing at the top of the three-point line, he caught a pass, took one power dribble and dunked right over everyone in his way. For a kid who was playing about three minutes a game over the past several nights, he sent the Greensboro Coliseum into the stratosphere. I'd love to see more of that game from him next season.

Wait wait wait...Please tell me you arent basing his insane hops that are comparable and maybe better than other wings in the country on that dunk? The kid is 6 foot 4 inches. That wasnt that good. lol

Not just that dunk. But it's the one I showed because, as I said, he has a very limited in-game catalog (I was honestly hoping no one had a link. Lol). He has been solely a spot-up specialist at Duke, so it's hard to find a lot of footage highlighting what the kid can do.
I've seen Dawkins in dunk contests and in high school. He can sky.

I dont doubt that, I just lol'd when I watched that video after your description and then birddoggs response of "very explosive".reclegend22;1427382 wrote:Not just that dunk. I mean the dunk was nice, but it wasnt what I was expecting after that was posted. I expected something more like this.

I figured if anyone looked it up, my description of Andre riding an escalator would seem ridiculous haha. It was still a sick dunk, and was actually a huge momentum play in that game. He came off the bench and scored seven points in a matter of about two minutes. The kid might be the most deadly shooter in the country next year.

I agree with that.
And despite Duke having a very good year, I havent thought they were a threat nationally for a few years. That all changes next year. They are going to be incredibly loaded.

Lol. In that Dawkins dunk that was posted he barely even got high enough to get over the rim. He definitely wouldn't have been able to with a defender.

That reminds me of Gerald Henderson's dunk vs the TerpsLaley23;1427388 wrote:I dont doubt that, I just lol'd when I watched that video after your description and then birddoggs response of "very explosive".

Similar drives and finishes, for sure. Henderson didnt have a defender though. But he has hops. I remember watching in college thinking he would make a better pro then he has. Though he has had some relly good games for the Bobcats.

Amazing, we have a Duke thread on an Ohio-based forum with 33 pages and 820 posts.
Sad, 23 of those 820 are mine...and IDGAF about Duke!

Lol. I honestly didn't think there would be a link to that video, so I straight up made shit up about the dunk. Ha.GOONx19;1427416 wrote:Lol. In that Dawkins dunk that was posted he barely even got high enough to get over the rim. He definitely wouldn't have been able to with a defender.
There really isn't even that much Duke discussion here anymore. I mean we have a pretty good faction of Blue Devils fans on this board to chat about the team with, but on the old site at the Huddle, there were ALWAYS more Duke THREADS than any other team on the board at pretty much any given time. If there were 10 threads visible, six were Duke. That always blew my mind.Azubuike24 wrote:Amazing, we have a Duke thread on an Ohio-based forum with 33 pages and 820 posts.

A lot of that also had to do with Ahdonis creating multiple anti-Duke threads per week.

Your memory is failing. Trinity was the culprit. He posted anything and everything about duke.Who can forget the daily daily breakdown of summer workouts?reclegend22;1427455 wrote:Lol. I honestly didn't think there would be a link to that video, so I straight up made **** up about the dunk. Ha.

In fact, it is fans like Trinity(aka dukefan) that give people a reason to hate duke.

As you said, half was cause we had avid Duke haters. I consider most on the OC to be passive Duke haters. We cheer against them, but not to the point where my night is ruined when they win, I watch entire games to point out the calls they got, and I respond to anything positive with something negative. lol
I actually like Duke when they have teams like I think they will next year. I cheer against Duke when they have teams like this year with clear limitations and are talked about as gods. That is the extent of my cheering against Duke. It pretty much comes down to if I actually think they are a top 3 team or not, cause they are always considered one lol

I never called out anyone here. I called out Ahdonis. I wonder where he is. I wonder if he's in here... No, couldn't be.Prescott;1427570 wrote:Your memory is failing. Trinity was the culprit. He posted anything and everything about duke.Who can forget the daily daily breakdown of summer workouts?

I also wonder where Ahdonis is. He would be a great addition to these boards.

I think you misunderstood Ahdonis' intent. He was trying to counter the BS that Trinity(aka dukefan) was throwing around.I was told through a 3rd party that he had great support on The Huddle that was shown by the number of supportive private messages he received.Azubuike24;1427780 wrote:Ahdonis = ccrunner609 off the Schizo meds.

Tarik Black meeting with Coach K...called this months ago
Mike is no dummy. This might be his most-talented team ever. It might be his best shot to get another title. He needs another big. It's an obvious fit.

Not sure if it will be as talented as 1999 or 2001, but I do think it will be Duke's deepest since Luol Deng, J.J. Redick, Chris Duhon, Shelden Williams and Co. were still in town and agree that it could be one of K's last goes at winning it all. He's 66, and even though I expect him to coach well into his 70s, legitimate title seasons are actually pretty rare in the grand scheme of a career.Azubuike24;1432888 wrote:Tarik Black meeting with Coach K...called this months ago

Duke was sort of at the vanguard of the "free agency" era of college basketball, bringing in Seth Curry in 2010 and then Rodney Hood last year. If Black signs, it would be the third high-profile transfer Duke has snagged in the past three years. Coach K also went hard after UConn transfer Alex Oriakhi a season ago. K definitely isn't afraid to make off-season moves that might help the team.
