I personally do not know how you really feel, but my guess is you'd be lying if you didn't at least think there was a chance for Sulaimon to become an All-American one day after his freshman year. He was really good that season. Admittedly, things fell apart really fast.Laley23;1702043 wrote:Surprised you feel that way. He is gonna be an all American!!
Honestly, I thought he'd already be in the pros by now. I was dead wrong, as were many in their prognostications of the kid I imagine.

I'm making fun of CC for picking him in the 1st round of the fantasy draft last year.
And no, I never thought he would be an AA. He is playing out worse then I thought, but I was all over him going pro after 1 year cause he would be recruited over and probably not drafted if he stayed. Never saw this coming though.

The most interesting -- and puzzling -- thing about Sulaimon is that, even though it appears as if he was in actuality recruited over, none of the wings that were brought in after him have as much pure talent as he does. In terms of potential, I fully believe Sulaimon to have the most of any guard currently at Duke.
Whatever it was that happened behind Cameron's closed doors absolutely destroyed that potential. So we'll never really know how good he could have been, but I am certain it was much more than what we ever saw.

OSU Football and now the Pats. The teams I hate in their respective sports have now won titles.
That's good news for you Rec, haha.

Haha. I'm with you on 1 of 3. I greatly admire Bill Belichick and obviously do not hate Duke. Ha.sportswizuhrd;1702423 wrote:OSU Football and now the Pats. The teams I hate in their respective sports have now won titles.

Unfortunately, I don't think you have that much to worry about moving forward.

Last night Duke did the same thing to Duke that Mercer and Lehigh did the last couple years ago. Drag duke away from the basket, 4 out 1 in, occupying the high post. Then back cut with space and screen action. I remember the old Wake coach Dave Odom telling me its the best way to beat Duke's ball pressure and sure enough VaTech torched them last night. I am glad they got the win but it was quite unfortunate watching Duke's halfcourt defense look so bad.

When the brackets come out, can someone go through Duke's region and label all the teams that play 4 out 1 in offensively and have guards over 6'3". Seems if you have versatile guards and wings you can just fan out and take Duke one v. one to the rack. VaTech did it, Notre Dame did it, Miami as well. Seems to be there is a certain type of team that will give Duke fits.

After the last few games...Okafor is not NBA ready. Sure he is big but his intensity is terrible. He cant shoot FT's and he has yet to take over a game that has a half way decent big man.
Maybe I just want him to stay another year. Along with the other freshman, they would be unreal next year

No one goes into the draft NBA ready anymore. The draft is a gamble on projection. He will go top 3 in the draft if not number 1.
