Hey, Duke threads are serious as shit.
I did go a little Ron Artest on you above, so my apologies. Haha. I have cooled down considerably since the Huddle days, however. I probably would have shot you back then.
Not sure that's funny, though.

And see you on February 13. Should be fun. The return trip to Chapel Hill probably not so much, however. But that's what makes this rivalry.

FSU is so undisciplined on defense.....seems like Duke has had 30 open 3's

Lol.
Duke rolled today in Tallahassee, extending its lead to almost 30 at one point. A nice turnaround from the Blue Devils' last visit to the state.
Seth Curry dropped in another 21 for Duke, hitting 5-of-7 from three. Again, he did this on essentially one good leg and one peg. He's a remarkably resilient player, and quickly closing in on 2,000 career points. A pretty great career he has made for himself.

Huge game for Duke tonight as the Blue Devils host N.C. State in Cameron Indoor. A must-win for Duke if the Devils want to seriously challenge Miami for the top seed in the ACC Tournament. According to Gary Parrish, barring a miracle, Lorenzo Brown will not play. So, I take that to mean that not only will Brown play, but he will play like Michael Jordan with the flu and score 25 points.
After Reggie Johnson rolled onto the court like Willis Reed at Miami -- a game in which he was declared out for by the team, after having not played in the previous 10 -- I believe nothing I hear prior to tip.

Per Lorenzo Brown's twitter feed, he is in fact out. I am surprised, but do not feel bad for N.C. State. Not after Mark Gottfried's comments when asked about Ryan Kelly being out for the first meeting, to which Gottfried replied, "Not many teams can lose a key player and replace him with a McDonald's boy [Amile Jefferson]."
State point guard Lorenzo Brown's replacement is Tyler Lewis, a, you guessed it, McDonald's boy. Karma's a bitch, Mark.
With that said, Duke will have to play well to win tonight. C.J. Leslie plays like Karl Malone against Duke.

Amidst all of the soccer scores across college basketball over the past couple of days, Duke puts up 58 on N.C. State in the first half tonight.
The Blue Devils have drilled 10 out of 17 threes. Seth Curry leads the way with 18 and Mason Plumlee has 15. Curry and Quinn Cook with 4 triples apiece. Duke basketball is beautiful to watch when they are executing.

All the rage on talk radio today was Rodney Purvis tweeting post game that the Duke student section was changing to Tyler Lewis "How's your grandma?". This would be an incredibly low blow, given her death this week.
Duke student section cheer organizers (I laughed typing that) vehemently deny this chant and Laura Keeley the beat reporter for the N&O said no cheer like that occurred. It was "past your bedtime?" instead.
In any even the Wophpack fans are in a tizzy and this will no doubt bring a bit more emphasis to a possible 3rd meeting in Greensboro. Hold on to your butts.
Lastly, this team is starting to play really well together. Defensively they really miss Kelly, but I am seeing that when he returns in late Feb early March there will be an immediate impact on the defensive end and the offense probably won't suffer as much. When Kyrie returned the offense turned into a sit and watch K1 do work. Kelly isn't that type of player so the team won't have to make that much of an adjustment.

Might as well hold your breath and die, swami. The Duke detesters are already in full force. From what I am hearing out of Ohio, from internet sources who, while not at the game, are very close to the situation via YouTube, not only did the Cameron Crazies perform that chant, they actually killed Tyler Lewis' grandma. With tridents, I believe.swamisez;1385410 wrote:All the rage on talk radio today was Rodney Purvis tweeting post game that the Duke student section was changing to Tyler Lewis "How's your grandma?". Who cares. If it was said, who cares. They are college students. The world is a cruel place. It can be brutally cruel when your a public figure or part of a public event. Senseless shit happens every day, way worse than this.
The only reason it was front page news in certain places was because it was a Duke home game and the Cameron Crazies have somewhat of a reputation. I've seen and heard much worse at high school games. Why are those fans and student-athletes any less important than here?

See my post on the other thread. I don't care. And I have already stated that here. But, the ultra light-thinned skin person I am, I cannot sit back and read baseless shit that was being uttered here.Azubuike24;1385707 wrote:Who cares. If it was said, who cares. The basketball coach at my place of employ played for Bucky waters at duke in the 70's and recalls a television news crew asking the student section before the game to stop with the "don't fuk with buck" chant. They relented but later in the season threw thousands of pairs of panties on the floor to mock a South Carolina player who was charged with sexual battery that offseason. It is far more tame than it was before tv made duke a darling.

IF Duke wins pretty much as expected against BC....who is your top 3 next week? (Duke fans preferably)
1. Miami
2. Duke (if they win as I expect)
3. Indiana (switch with Duke if Duke struggles mightily, but wins)

With where the rankings were this week that makes good sense....I just have trouble putting Duke above Miami after Miami beat them by 70 and their records are similar.

BC giving all they have....I may find something else to watch. Either a should win happens or the underdog is lights out and the court gets stormed.
Meh....plus it's shitty viewing on ESPN U

It's completely predictable.
Wonder what will happen with 18 ticks left down 1 after every other Top 5 has lost.
