Missouri also misses having a head coach. I still contend that Frank Haith will be gone in less than three years. With a sub-.500 record in the ACC and 1 NCAA tournament appearance in 7 seasons at the helm, he somehow negotiated one of the most mediocre hires at a major basketball school in NCAA history. Baffles my mind still.

I bet Gene Keady doesn't even care. Along with Pittsburgh, Purdue is on my list of most unwatchable teams in college basketball year in, and year out.

Agreed

Self just straight outcoached Barnes...which isn't that hard to do so don't take this as bragging from me.

I think you're seeing the value of a guy like Patric Young coming back to school. 5-star, top 10 player, could've gone to the NBA after his Freshman year and been a first rounder. Kept coming back, twice. Playing at a very high level and not being asked to be the man. Potential to dominate the game at some point if they had to go to him though.

Similar story with Jeff Withey.

I wish Brandon Triche always played this aggressive and with this much confidence.

Louisville's press has the Orange out of sorts now.

They're a tough call. Good enough defensively to beat anyone, inconsistent enough offensively to lose to just about anyone (tournament caliber).

Agree. They can't score. Sure, they have some guys capable, but Russ Smith and Wayne Blackshear can also go ice cold. Their defense will keep them in a game, but they are on upset alert against a lower seed who gets really hot.

I'm far more impressed with Kansas and Florida, who play great D, but can also score a ton of points if their opponent wants to play that game with them.

He's single-handedly keeping this close...

Agreed. I'd bet Southerland doesn't play again this year so Triche's play and leadership become that much more important.

I was saying the same thing to a buddy this week. They don't scare me like Kansas or Indiana. They're a very good team, just more beatable than the other top teams IMO.

What a half by Brandon Triche. 38 all at the half. If Syracuse can take better care of the ball in the 2nd half I like their chances.

UCLA is actually fun to watch when they don't try to keep it in the 50's...

Should be a good ending on ESPNU if anybody is interested. 1 point game with 2 and a half left.

Syracuse falling behind now. Triche cooling off. Someone else needs to step up. Looking at you, CJ Fair....

He hasn't been great but I like Jerami Grant. Young but aggressive. Not tentative.
