Couldn't a Friday night into Saturday work? I know there is college football to compete with, but that's just the way it is. Meanwhile, nobody is watching college basketball on Tuesday at 8 a.m. GMAFB.
Ratings. They wont win anything on the weekend right now, especially with those teams. Only mid majors will play those hours, so to get any kind of ratings at all it has to be the only thing on. Weekends, not happening.

So pissed that the BTN isnt showing Indiana vs S. Dakota St on their actual channel. Its being streamed on Monday. Probably one of the better games to show pre-conference (in terms of a top tier team vs a good mid major).

If not, I bet it will greatly reduce the number of teams that are willing to agree to take part in the event. Especially when actually playing the game is entirely dependent on the weather.
It sucks for the teams involved, but I'm glad the Carrier Classic games went so terribly for those very reasons. I was pumped for Florida-Georgetown and as a college basketball fan I feel robbed. Can't imagine what the people at the game feel like.
Just play the things ON the base in a hanger or something.
