What player did they have the option of taking that could lead a team to a title? Favors, Wes Johnson, Cousins, Udoh, Monroe, Aminu? I would take Monroe over Turner(maybe) but he's not a guy that could lead a team to a title, no one(including Wall) in that draft is.

Also, here's a list of the last 11 #2 picks
Kidd-Gilchrist
Williams
Turner
Thabeet
Beasley
Durant
Aldridge
Williams
Okafur
Milicic
Williams

Turner is near the top end of that class of guys. In fact, there's only 2 guys I'd rank solidly above him. Thinking you're going to get "a guy who can lead you to a title" at #2 is a poor standard. There just aren't that many guys of that caliber floating around out there.

Whining incessantly about the Turner pick was idiotic, and I'm guessing mostly driven by his nut hugging of Kentucky. I honestly didn't remember who it was, and Azu is a solid poster, but he looks pretty foolish on that one.

Another negative about Turner. He's 25. How much upside does he have? When in doubt, I'd still go with a guy who has more potential. Again, it's tough because I actually want Turner to become a star.

It's funny though because of that list you posted, you only take ONE guy over Turner? Haha. A 19-year old Kidd-Gilchrist, really? LaMarcus Aldridge, who by the way, is only 27...yet he's in his 7th year. Durant, that's a no-brainer obviously.

Maybe it's just my philosophy and I do agree there doesn't appear to be a guy they totally whiffed on in that draft. Either way, if you draft a 22-year old that high he better be an immediate impact guy who is a guaranteed top-end option. Maybe not a mega-star, but someone you can consider building a franchise around. For as solid as Turner's style is, I just never saw him becoming that and IMO, that's selling yourself short with a #2 overall pick.

I guess we'll have to let things play out a bit longer on this debate.

I guess that would be "funny" except I clearly said two. In fact, I said there's two guys I'd "rank solidly above him" meaning someone like MKG could rise above him eventually. Your jimmies are so rustled you misread my post.

Westbrook is pissed but not real sure anything was dirty. Wade was going all for ball and Battier went more recklessly into the stands than anyone after reaching for ball but hitting his arms.

Just looked like a basketball play to me. Happens about twice a game in high school.

They both hit the ball, it just looked worse than what it was. Atleast they got it right.

Fall down 8 times......get up 8 times.....3 without hesitation and should've only fell twice. I think that's how the commercial went.

What doesn't he do? He still flops all over the place and cries like a ***** every possession.

Ray Allen got what was coming to him on that screen

Ehh that whole leaving Boston to go to Miami thing after what happened in the playoffs was a huge douche move. Plus he flopped like 2 min earlier and got the offensive foul on Westbrook.

lol at the officials not calling, and most especially the announcers not even mentioning, the blatant slap across the arm from Chalmers on that Durant dunk. You'll never see a clearer uncalled And-1.
