LOL tearing this to pieces is going to be fun. Your post is full of so much ignorance. Let's begin.Hb31187;1311040 wrote: We provided statistics comparing the 2 players, and Jennings clearly has better numbers and they are almost exactly the same age (1). You've just been watching too much ESPN and theyve been telling you how amazing he is and you eat it up (2). Hes a solid player, but excuse me for not going gaga over a career bench player averaging like 13 3 n 3 (3). When he plays an entire season as a starter not being aided by playing against 2nd teamers and having teams worry about 2 other superstars on his team, then maybe ill agree hes a great player. Until then ill wait to proclaim him as great
(1) Last years stats
James Harden: 21.13 PER, 21.5 points per 40, 20.2 usage rate 39% from 3, 49% fg, assist percentage 19.6 Offensive rating of 125, defensive rating of 105--4th in NBA in True Shooting, 9.3 win shares
Brandon Jennings: 18.46 PER, 21.6 points per 40, 24.9 usage rate 33% from 3, 41% fg assist percentage 26.7 Offensive rating of 106, defensive rating of 107--197th in TS, 5.5 win shares
Those two seasons are nowhere near as close as the limited statistics you cite are. Use some actually useful metrics, and your argument fails.
(2) So your argument now consists of blindly assuming that my argument is based on the fact I watch too much ESPN. Excuse me while I laugh my f*cking ass off. First of all I hate ESPN barely watch it, although I find Hollinger and the truehoops guys to be much more useful than most of ESPN's crew. You want to bring up ESPN? Fine. Their NBA analysts, along with 106 total others, created a list you may of heard of called NBA Rank. This isn't some bullsh*t list, it's 106 NBA experts who actually their time to analyze the list. James Harden sits at 26. Brandon Jennings? 61. FWIW, I don't need them to tell me what my eyes have told me for 6 years. James Harden is an unstoppable beast. I've watched 95% of his games since he was drafted by the Thunder, and my argument is based on the complete and utter efficiency in which he plays, which I've seen now for nearly 240 of the 265 times he's taken the floor in an NBA game.
(3). Yes, because the stats that he scored 3 years ago are so relevant to the argument of him being a top 25 player today
