It's for everyones safety. Zombies are attracted to noise and you know how loud black people are when they are in large groups.justincredible;1335386 wrote:I was pretty damn excited when Tyreese made his appearance. This episode was a little bit of a let down but it does set up the second half of the season well. Also funny that Tyreese is introduced and the black prisoner is immediately killed off.

I kinda like how they've set up the Darryl and Merle reunion. The Gov turned on Merle so it makes it pretty easy for him to change his allegiance back to the group. He would have a lot of inside info on the Gov so it would be pretty beneficial to let him back in the group for the impending attack. This is assuming Merle isn't offed in this situation. I saw Darryl in the preview for the 2nd half but didn't notice Merle.

Didn't see the governor turning on Merle so quickly. It'll be interesting to see how they get out of this mess, if they do.

Didnt Glen say "what the hell is he doing here" in the preview? I'll have to go back and check but I thought I heard that, I cant imagine who else he would be referring to.justincredible;1335390 wrote:I kinda like how they've set up the Darryl and Merle reunion. I wonder if they'll immediately get a new Asian when Glen dies?

Why the slo-Mo scene when Rick was firing on the townspeople? And why did the guy he shot look like Shane as he was approaching, then looked like Rick after he was shot & on the ground?
Was it just to advance the "Rick is losing his mind" story?

Pretty sure it was just an "add on" to Rick still struggling with his losses.RedRider1;1335532 wrote:Why the slo-Mo scene when Rick was firing on the townspeople? And why did the guy he shot look like Shane as he was approaching, then looked like Rick after he was shot & on the ground?

Disappointing mid-season premier I thought. That would have been a better episode for the mid-season finale.
Hopefully they pick it back up.

Totally agree. Was expecting a lot more. Will be interesting to see how Daryl and Merle return. Tyrese joining the group will help with Daryl being gone.

I agree with the first point, not so much with the 2nd point. I think it would've been a fine 2nd episode of this half-season. Just not much going on for it to be a good premier or finale.SnotBubbles;1386666 wrote:Disappointing mid-season premier I thought. That would have been a better episode for the mid-season finale.

Looked like based off of the previews that Daryl is already back with Rick next week....along the highway somewhere.vdubb96;1386669 wrote:Totally agree. Was expecting a lot more. Will be interesting to see how Daryl and Merle return. Tyrese joining the group will help with Daryl being gone.

Yea I was a little bit underwhelmed myself. Kinda shocked Daryl just left like that. I wouldn't be surprised to see rick step down as leader in the next 2-3 episodes

It wasn't great, but wasn't awful either.
Seems like they just are taking their time with things.
The moral line that Rick flirts with is really interesting to watch.
Seems like he has lost his faith in humanity.

The show wasn't bad. It just wasn't spectacular after waiting 2+ months.

Have heard a lot of people talking about how underwhelming the episode was. But, as someone who just caught up on the show watching all of them on Netflix and then the first half of this season on Demand, if you take away that it was a "premier" a more low-key episode was due to tie some things together after the intensity of the last couple episodes.

Was expecting Darryl and Merle to go back to the prison and then Merle figure out how to attack it then turn traitor. Seems like that's why the governor let him escape so easy.

I thought that episode was much better than last week.

I've thought both episodes were pretty good (they set a low bar during that whole farm/Sophia thing).
I'm getting kind of tired of the governor at this point. The "Gangs of NY" in the zombie-apocalypse has kind of run its course.

Episode was a little better, but still far from the episodes that made us fall in love with the show. They honestly need to go back and watch season 1 (and probably re-hire the writers).

You can only get so much mileage out of killing and running from zombies.
I like that they have at least moved away from depicting normal life in the zombie world (baby, relationship troubles, etc..) and into still realistic but somewhat atypical things such as Rick's dementia and the conflict with Woodbury.
I do agree that the shows begins to quickly drag when they hole-up somewhere. That's probably more realistic, but wandering around and being presented with different situations would keep the show more interesting and fresh.
At a certain point you have to move beyond just trying to survive to finding and joining a community to rebuild. 8 of them or whatever isolated in that prison is not living. The governor has it right, he's just a psychopath.

Another boring episode. This may be the worst partial season to date.
At least next week's episode looks action packed.
They need to leave the prison. Not just Rick, Carl and Michone....all of them.
