The prison looked promising but quickly looks like a terrible idea.
Tough call. Big risk/steep price on a gamble that it has good supplies and weapons. But his reasoning was solid.

Even then, they are basiically scavengers and I wouldn't call the prison "low hanging fruit". But if I had good access to readily available food, I like a prison to hole up. Although it doesn't seem like it would be tough to secure most any building.

Right.

I'm just saying that given the fact that most if not all of the prison seems to be overrun, they're almost trapped in that cell block it seems. Granted, that area is secure. However, the prison looks like a maze with walkers around most of the corners.

I have a feeling the inmates won't last too long.

Great first episode!

More action than the first 4 weeks of season 2.....looks like it is going to be a great season!

Great as always. Since the beginning of Season 2, until the second half premiere, the show had gotten a tad bit stale. I think they've learned from it and I expect every episode to be pretty damn good.

The prisoners that showed up at the end makes me wonder what kind of supplies could be left, that looked like the kitchen that they found them in. Rick should just off Lori after the kid is old enough to eat solid food, she is a total tool right now. Carl starting to hold his own, was that a potato type gun, works off of compressed air rick used to sweep the yard? Overall, very good start, loved the fight scene with the prison guard zombies in riot gear! lol

Another solid episode. Rick taking care of that douche bag prisoner was pretty sweet. I'm hoping next week will be the first appearance of the governor.

Maybe we'll see the return of MERLE! I wonder how him coming back will affect Darryl?

She sucks, for sure.

Depending on how close they stay to the books she may or may not make it through this season. Hope that helps.

I'm curious how hostile he'll be. My guess is it was Merle that was watching Carol cut open the walker.

Anyone else think Carl is a BAMF now?

Went to the infirmary by himself and came back with some supplies.

It will take a while before he erases the two seasons of being a pipsqueak. But he's getting there.

He also needs to get with Herschel's younger daughter. He's only got one leg now, he won't be able to catch him.

Once she starts as his teacher they can hook-up...and then the circle will be complete.

Anyway, to summarize...Breaking into a prison after the zombie apocalypse = bad idea.

What did everyone think of "The Governor?"

The guy they cast was perfect, I think.

It's a nice plot twist. It's a much more interesting potential issue in a post-apocalyptic world. What annoyed me about the farm was like 8 episodes about how life would be tough - we get that, move on to something that challenges the imagination a bit.

I guess everyone's favorite is back. But personally I don't care for the character.

And how were they "re-animating" the severed heads? I guess technically the brain hasn't been bashed in, so it's just a matter of supplying the electricity to allwo the cells to communicate?

The episode felt like I was watching the first episode of a bad ABC drama based on cliffhangers and shitty mystery.

From what I'm told from the readers, the Governor is a great plot arc though.

The Governor is the best story arc, imo.

I do feel like this story has been told before, in various other ways and venues. But at least there IS a story to tell in how he maintains power and manipulates those around him.
