Also You have to follow gun season rules while bow hunting , So legal hunting hours are diffrent

Went out this morning and watched 27 does walk around me for two hours. I have never watched this many so close before. One kept messing around at the bottom of the tree i was in. It was cool to see I must say. I never did see a buck but was pretty awesome to watch the does all morning.

Got up at 4:30 this morning. Got dressed, ate breakfast.... Couldn't find my god damned orange coat. Looked for about 45 minutes, said "fuck it" and went back to bed. When my wife woke up at 8 she asked "I thought you were going hunting?" I said I was but that I couldnt find my orange coat. She replied "you hung it right there on the back of the bedroom door so that you would remember you had to wear orange today"

god dammit

Took my buddy and his daughter out this morning and she ended up shooting the 12 pointer that I passed on a few times. I set them up in the stand I have been seeing the bucks out of. Around nine I hear a bunch of hooping and hollaring. I got out of my stand and walked over to see what they got. She was using her dads crossbow cause she wanted to shoot a deer like her dad. It might have been one of the best days I have ever been a part of. I dont know if I have ever felt so much joy over something so simple.

Pretty impressed that a girl did that.

I passed cause I have been watching a larger buck in that area. I took one shot at him a while back and missed it was pretty far. Once I saw the bigger buck that is all i have been waiting on. I have passed the 12 pointer several times since then. The little girl wanted to hunt like her dad does and that is why she was using the crossbow. Not sure why she didnt want to use the gun. She is a pretty good shot with the bow and her gun. It was her first deer ever and I am glad I passed that 12 so she could shoot it.

Thats's pretty awesome. So were you able to see her take it down? Or were you just able to see the aftermath? Obviously I love taking my own deer, but I helped my friend track a buck last night. That was almost as fun, finding and tracking the blood trail and seeing how pumped he was when we found it.

I was around the corner from them and just got to see the aftermath. It was cool she started crying cause she was so excited. She wanted to call all her friends and grandpa to come see it.

Since I usually hunt public land, I didn't end up going out during youth weekend. I did drive by and saw a ton of trucks by where I usually go in. Does this mean I'm pretty much screwed if I want to go back to my spot this week when I get a few days off? Gotta assume they're all scattered and out of the area after a bunch of gun hunters in there.

The thing is Sometimes Hunting pressure is a good thing, One someone starts shooting the deer start moving and alot of the time the move right to You, If You want to get a good spot on public land get in the woods early a hour or so before daylight, alot of hunters dont get in the woods till daylight and bump the deer to you at the stand,And get in as deep as You can , Most public land hunters use only the first mile of land

I wanted to go out this morning, but our 5 1/2 hour drive home from Buffalo ended up being 7 1/2 hours last night, then the elevation adjustment was stripped on my scope, so I was up until 2am trying to fix that. Headed out here in about 2 hours.

I haven't been deer hunting since I was probably 15. I'd like to go again soon but I'd be completely lost. Also, my shotgun sucks.
