Struthers passing game too much for the Devils, and the Devils will have some failed drives in the red zone. Struthers 24-13.

The Blitz picks was the best thing about the whole vindicator. Other then that they cant even get a date right.

It's good that the heat wave we have had for most of the summer finally broke a few weeks back. The rain helped the grass on all of the natural surfaces. I'm looking forward to our visit to Wildcat Stadium tomorrow night.

This Game is gonna be great. No matter the outcome. You wont find a better game Thursday night. Over the last few years the Coaches have had there way with the opener of the football season. Not this time around.

What is on everyone's mind about the game? Whats your worries and fears for tomorrow game. Let us know why your team is better and should or will win?

For me my fear is this is the biggest game to start a season since i could remember. The winner will have the momentum going into week 2 and lets face it the rest of the year.
Worries is simply the corners and kicking game. And some inexperience in such a big game.

I believe Campbell should win on coaching experience. NOTICE I DID NOT SAY WILL WIN!! There is a ton of experience on the devils sideline. Last year i don't think any of Zetts trick plays worked. If Struthers falls behind early it could be bad. First year head coach might Panic. To be Honest its Anyone's Game. For sure who ever wins this game will deserve the Steel hat. last year we should have just handed it over before the game. I do not believe that will be the issue this year. Go Devils:thumbup:

I'll take a players experience over coaching experience anyday. Struthers has Campbell beat with players in about every position. Just like last season, the cats will come out and hit. And the Campbell kids will once again whine and complain the entire game. As usual. Struthers returns the players that won that game, muntean Stewart, etc. Campbell loses their entire team and we all know it regardless of his attitude. It's a wrap. Theres gonna have to be a small miracle for Campbell to win this one.

Campbell fielded 13, yes 13 freshmen boys against the Cats tonight and lost a tough one in the final minute 14-12.

Those 13 played with more heart than any Campbell team has in a long time. I'm so proud of them

I'M OFFICIALLY IN HYPE MODE NOW!!! LET'S GO DEVILS WERE COMIN IN AND RUINING SOME NIGHTS FOR YOU CAT FANS!!!!

I look for a close, exciting game.

Pull it out, Wildcats!
I agree with you here. Everything is out the door. This will be the best game in the entire area Thursday night. I don't ever remember Campbell playing a Thursday game before. Saturday yes but never Thursday. Giggity I am so excited.

Struthers has played at least 3 games on Thursday night. 1968 at Boardman on Halloween, 1972 at home vs. Fitch and 1988 vs. Ursuline at YSU. There may have been others, but those are the ones I remember. Some of this is referenced in a book I bought many years ago from Gene Janecko, "Wildcat Country". It covers 1916 to 2003. He also did books for Memorial and East, and maybe Chaney. It's a book I look at frequently. Really nostalgic.

Probably the only time Campbell & Struthers opened the season was 1980 at Struthers. A 35-7 Wildcat win. Was there with some friends from work.

I can't believe it's almost here now. I'd love to be there, but will have to wait until weeks 3 & 4.

I hope it's a well played and well officiated game. I also hope it's injury free for both teams.

Yes, this is "throw everything out" week. It is the best game in the state Thursday night, without a doubt.

Everyone enjoy it. I'll have to resort to listening to it at 4pm.

GO WILDCATS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

soup, Gene is the gentleman who created the two Campbell football scrapbooks which I have. I have been to his house. His basement is like an OSU museum.

Usually I would say that this game comes down to which defense can stop the run. The winner of this game will be determined by the leadership ability of the two QB's in this game. Munteen is a very good QB. He is a true leader and can make plays. Can he handle the pass rush of a very good Campbell DL? Reyes is a talented QB but not the leader, IMO, that Munteen is. Can Reyes make plays when the team faces adversity? Can he calm the team down and lead if things are not going so well. So, this QB battle, IMHO, will determine the outcome of this game.

Struthers has already faced a tough QB in Kent Roosevelt's QB (A Pitt Recruit I think). Devils will have their hands full. But so will Struthers with the solid hard nosed running of the two or three capable backs. This should be a good game.

Back when I was in high school, Struthers-Campbell week was huge. We all did things to antagonize each other. But we never took the vandalism very far. We might have thrown eggs at the school building. But that's as far as we took it. We hated each other. But we respected each other just the same.

I know Struthers would play at least one Thursday game a year back in the early 2000's, usually against Niles.

That's a great book!!

My Dad was the starting center, and my Uncle was a starting corner, on that 1980 MVC Championship team. If I'm not mistaken, didn't they retire the Hard Hat Trophy after that game?
