Perone was an absolute load tonight, with almost 190 on the ground, and Sr Grant Hay had 150 on the ground.
Don't let Mr. 300 fool you. This was a very good, competitive game for 3 1/2 quarters. Both teams were scoreless in the 1st quarter. WH struck first, Triway came back with 2 scores, and WH scored late to take the halftime lead. West Holmes was held scoreless again in the 3rd quarter while Triway kicked a field goal to take the lead into the 4th quarter. West Holmes sandwiched another Triway touchdown with 4 of their own in the final period, 3 of which came on consecutive offensive plays for the Knights.

Both teams had 7 penalties, Triway's for 65 and WH's for 66. The biggest of Triway's penalties was on a 4th and a mile, "roughed" the punter in WH territory, automatic first down. This was late in the 3rd, led to 4th quarter TD.
West Holmes lost 2 fumbles while Triway threw 3 picks (1 was under duress and fell right into a DE's stomach).
With that said, West Holmes' running backs are ALL good. They all run hard, especially Perone (#24). They were all a load and would start on just about any team in the area, IMO.
Rushing: Triway 12-for-1, WH 52-for-458 (5 TD)
Passing: Triway 33-49 for 364 yds (3 TD, 3 INT), WH 2-7 for 46 yds (1 TD, 0 INT)
First Downs: Triway 21 WH 22 (both teams punted only once each)
WH:
Perone: 23 rush, 189 yds, 3 TD
Hay: 5 rush, 144 yds, 2 TD (back-to-back 54 and 58 yard runs in 4th quarter)
Triway:
Kearney: 11 rec, 117 yds, 1 TD
Copley: 7 rec, 93 yds, 1 TD
Very competitive game that West Holmes broke open with a few big runs in the 4th through big holes. I think they just wore our D-line down. If West Holmes was as good as advertised, I'm encouraged as a Triway fan. But it's never fun to lose. Congrats to West Holmes, and good luck the rest of the way!
