Perone was an absolute load tonight, with almost 190 on the ground, and Sr Grant Hay had 150 on the ground.

So West Holmes rushed for over 340 yards? Yikes!!!!

But the first td from WH was a pass. Can you stack the box against them?

Don't let Mr. 300 fool you. This was a very good, competitive game for 3 1/2 quarters. Both teams were scoreless in the 1st quarter. WH struck first, Triway came back with 2 scores, and WH scored late to take the halftime lead. West Holmes was held scoreless again in the 3rd quarter while Triway kicked a field goal to take the lead into the 4th quarter. West Holmes sandwiched another Triway touchdown with 4 of their own in the final period, 3 of which came on consecutive offensive plays for the Knights.
WH had way to many penalties and TO's, which allowed Triway to hang around for 3 qtrs.
Both teams had 7 penalties, Triway's for 65 and WH's for 66. The biggest of Triway's penalties was on a 4th and a mile, "roughed" the punter in WH territory, automatic first down. This was late in the 3rd, led to 4th quarter TD.
West Holmes lost 2 fumbles while Triway threw 3 picks (1 was under duress and fell right into a DE's stomach).

With that said, West Holmes' running backs are ALL good. They all run hard, especially Perone (#24). They were all a load and would start on just about any team in the area, IMO.

Rushing: Triway 12-for-1, WH 52-for-458 (5 TD)
Passing: Triway 33-49 for 364 yds (3 TD, 3 INT), WH 2-7 for 46 yds (1 TD, 0 INT)
First Downs: Triway 21 WH 22 (both teams punted only once each)

WH:
Perone: 23 rush, 189 yds, 3 TD
Hay: 5 rush, 144 yds, 2 TD (back-to-back 54 and 58 yard runs in 4th quarter)

Triway:
Kearney: 11 rec, 117 yds, 1 TD
Copley: 7 rec, 93 yds, 1 TD

Very competitive game that West Holmes broke open with a few big runs in the 4th through big holes. I think they just wore our D-line down. If West Holmes was as good as advertised, I'm encouraged as a Triway fan. But it's never fun to lose. Congrats to West Holmes, and good luck the rest of the way!

Pitman, i wasnt trying to fool anyone. As I sat in the sea of purple donning my WH colors, I kept telling my Triway family members for 3 qtrs that this is a great football game. WH played poorly at times I felt, while Triway playing at home in front of the big crowd played very inspired. We had a few breakdowns in coverage and communication on defense, which Triway took advantage of and scored. Triway defense came to play, and they hit hard! Talking with my son after the game, he was definately aware of how tight and close the battle was.

Great rivalry game and a huge crowd on hand!! Now if i could only do something about the Triway fan who likes to make that obnoxious siren sound after a score I'd be a happy camper. He was right behind us....Geeesh! :)

I watched part of the replay on CPI last night but I was too tired to really pay close attention. I will try to see it again over the weekend. Sounded like a fun game to attend.

Triway's QB looked very good for being a sophomore. Everyone will be expecting big things of him when he is a senior

He definitely threw well! And he had a lot more time to throw last night than he was used to last year. He also has a ton of Seniors around him - WRs Kearney, Copley, Genet, Drake, and Boreman, to name a few. After this year, they will be tough to replace, but we do have strong athletes coming up, too. Other than under-throwing 2 sure TDs (but were still big gains), Parker was on all night!

The sophomore QB from Triway was impressive. I was also impressed with sophomore KR/FS/WR, #1. He was the smallest kid on the field and didn't back down from anyone.

West Holmes is big and powerful but they have to learn to hold on to the ball and cover the spread if they want to win the OCC.

^^ I think WH needs to learn how to play with a target on their chest. Unfamiliar ground with all the preseason hype.
