No Sommers on the team.

Let's go Riders.

Prove all the "experts" wrong...especially that Holmes county homer Kevin Lynch...dating back to last year, he's picked against us 4 straight times..and in the previous 3, we made him look silly.

So there big up front ,there probably slow too. Orrville should have speed advantage, they looked fast at there scrimmages. minerva and louisville were big also and orrville stayed right with them. 9 1/2 point spread pretty good for a team with a new qb. new running back, and new offense. Are you an orrville fan, if so why put them in the loss column already.

Orrville has decent skill position players, though somewhat young. The dilemma will be controlling the line of scrimmage. I expect teams to "ground and pound" the defense. And with a smallish O Line, I would also expect Short seeing significant time under center. Mobility will be critical for the offense to move the ball. To me, it's the issues with the size of the offensive and defensive lines that are causing people to expect a sub .500 season out of the Red Riders. You can't coach speed or size, and Orrville only seems to have one of those attributes this season.

orrville is allways smaller. but they are nasty. they are well coached. have to go with my Indians in this one. O-line paves the way and Harris runs wild

games are won with Defense. the Indians have Schley and Bowman to lead the way there. both could be leading tacklers in the county

If I had to have a team that was either big or fast I would take fast everytime. However, I am not convienced that this team speed many are talking about is as good as everyone says yet. I hope it is and will be watching close tonight. Also, I see no reason to have Short under center unless Lechti gets hurt. Short will get his touches I am sure but at QB I don't see it.

Orrville's defense holds NW after a turn over in the final minutes and wins 24-20. Inman looked good. We reload.

Very exciting game!

We let Northwest hang around and make it close. Once again like it is ever year, special teams and turnovers were the key to the game.

Way to start the season off with a win!

Can't win the DR poll by picking against us. You'll learn Kevin. Sets the table for the Riders to go 3-1 in the first 4 games and end up 6-4 and make the play offs. We'll bring it next week with the turf inaugeration and then have to win 1 of 2 in the next two weeks. Then split the next 6 games in the tough OCC. Clearfork and Lex seem to be down some and all we have to do is win one of the other four. Now that all changes with injuries etc., but this first win is a big one.

Good job tonight Riders!

I was just checking out the box score on the Canton Repository website. It shows that Orrville had 168 rushing yards and that Northwest only had 83 yards on the ground. I wasn't at the game, so I was wondering if those are accurate numbers, and if so, was Orrvilles line play that good, or did the big NW line have a bad night?

Anyways, sounds like it was a good Orrville - Northwest football game as always.
