It's getting closer to the opening ceremony time.
I won't be paying much attention to them this year. Just really no interest.

I think there's already a thread on this. Nonetheless it's funny and she's hot.

I am curious to see if anyone can beat Bolt in the 100M, or if he'll run 9.5

If I recall correctly Bolt didn't look too hot at the trials and he was beat in both the 100 and 200 there. Now it's only the trials, but he just didn't look the same. It didn't look as fluid and easy as it did back in 2008.

Love the Summer Olympics, especially with the Tribe in a downward spiral--gives me the opportunity to watch real athletes

Thanks for the update...haven't been following. Perhaps he was injured? IMO, he was likely on something in 2008 - just way too huge of an incremental jump in the record and also his PB tracking was insane. Kind of mirrors what Ben Johnson did in both regards, to a factor of about 10.Fly4Fun;1230931 wrote:If I recall correctly Bolt didn't look too hot at the trials and he was beat in both the 100 and 200 there. Bad news, cold and wet weather may force beach volleyball into long pants and sleeves. Say it isn't so.

That's just part of having it in London, sadly.

True, but it's a hit to viewership, definitely. I wonder how it's going to be if they have to run races or some other stuff in pouring rain. I assume they don't postpone events and just continue?ts1227;1231119 wrote:That's just part of having it in London, sadly.

Hopefully they'd consider having the high jump, pole vault and long jump (indoors) somewhere else or delayed around any bad storms.tk421;1231144 wrote: I wonder how it's going to be if they have to run races or some other stuff in pouring rain. Swimming and Track & Field are the only things I will make it a point to watch. I'll probably end up watching quite a few random events though.

beach volleyball in long shirts and pants = all time ratings low.

The beach volleyball news is definitely disappointing. I usually watch that event. Not sure if the competition alone is enough to get me to watch this year, but I probably will at least check it out.
I' usually try to watch all the swimming, most of the track events, some of the bike riding on tracks, gymnastics, maybe some trampolining for a laugh, some basketball (Men's), kayaking, and water polo.

Even though opening ceremonies aren't until Friday, women's soccer early rounds start on Wednesday. USA vs. France 12 PM Wed.

Practically the entire Swedish women's soccer team is tall, athletic and blonde.

I'll cheer for some neutral hot chicks.

USA saw their first Olympic action today in a USA v. France women's soccer game.
France jumped out to a quick 2-0 lead, but USA stormed back to win it 4-2 including 2 goals from my favorite player (breakout star from 2011 World Cup) Alex Morgan!
